Panchito's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Loris

Really enjoyed my trip here tonight with my kids. We tried a good selection of many items to get a real feel for this place. We came before any dinner rush would appear to also see about the true atmosphere. Didn't disappoint at all. Food was great, staff attentive and available when needed for anything from extra plates to Togo boxes. Bringing extra napkins and drinks refills without prompting too which is always bonus points for me. Food was hot and fresh arriving in rapid speed to the table. Chips and salsa arrived promptly and was also nice and warm which is always pleasant to get. Highly recommend stopping in and we will return. Review from my 10 year old daughter of the restroom was that it was immaculate for cleanliness and spider free. She always looks for spiders everywhere we go. The toilet flushed very quietly and doors don't squeak at all. She was so impressed with the cleanliness she insisted I go inspect this restroom. The restaurant was also very clean and appeared to be in good repair/condition the only thing I could possibly say needs work is the store front could use signage and maybe a potted plant or two if the strip mall allows them to draw the eye and seem...

Food is ok, not bad not great but somewhere between ok and good. Their "special green sauce" which I think is some combination of verde and green chili is pretty nice. I'm used to highly authentic style Spanish restaurants, so I may be a bit harsh in judgment about food. Service was good, and chips were warm. What I didn't like was a bit of a chain of things. They have a level "B" in sanitation rating, it kinda smelled of mold walking in or perhaps like they had cleaned their air ducks something was very off about the smell of the building in general. Like I said I'm used to highly traditional Spanish restaurants, the menu, is freaking huge. Like overly large. Most would think this a plus, I personally know some of the down falls of that in the industry as it costs ALOT to keep a menu like that going and having food in stock, for the customer that means that the restaurant has to work way harder to insure that the food is kept fresh and...

When I bit into the jalepeño popper, I got a nice cold crunch of ice in the middle... they brought them back and in a few minutes the waitress returned the plate that still had the half-eaten one and the cheese had exploded all over the plate from them simply tossing them in a microwave. If I wanted nuked poppers I would stay home... the food could be described as decent but was definitely on the bland side. Certainly nothing to write home about. Upon check out, we had to go over the menu with one of the managers as he typed in the individual prices off of the menu. This took almost 10 minutes. Then the bill for my wife and I was $60!! Once we got home, both of us began to feel sick about the same time.

The staff was very nice however, and the place is kept clean from what I saw. But that is about all of the redeeming qualities. Its a shame there isn't a better Mexican restaurant close by because I will not be...
