OUR NEW THAI GO-TO PLACE. My wife who is 10 weeks along on her pregnancy, who hasnโt been able to eat much of anything the last 2 months, surprisingly had an appetite when we ate here on an early Friday evening around 7:15PM in late July of 2016. This comes almost to no surprise because the FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!
The restaurant is in 2-story plaza with many businesses, so it might be tricky for first-timers to find the place. Itโs at the bottom level, towards the right if youโre facing the building.
Once we entered, it was a little over half-full and we were seated immediately. What I liked about the MENU was there were a few pages with 4x6 PHOTOS of some of their specialty dishes. This is very helpful especially when you arenโt sure what to get. I also liked that the menu was not very overwhelming, and that the fonts used are large.
We ordered the COCONUT RABBIT DUMPLINGS to start. Itโs a combination of meats served with cute little bamboo skewers/toothpicks placed on top of cucumber slices and served with a cucumber/pineapple/onion relish/salsa and some light sweet orange-colored sauce. (Forgot what it was) This was very good and it got me excited for our entrees.
We chose the SHORT RIB MASSAMAN CURRY because according to the description it was a little sweet (which is what I felt like), and had potatoes versus the PANANG which had French beans. You can either order it with rice or fried Roti. I asked for both of course. When you dip that deep fried goodness into the thick MASSAMAN CURRY sauce, youโd wish theyโd give you more sauce. But unlike other places where they give more sauce than meat, Iโd rather have the quality and balance of this dish than those of others. This was prepared well. You can tell by looking at the sauce that itโs bursting with flavor.
We also had their PAD THAI. I canโt explain what it is, but thereโs a hint of flavor that makes all the difference. Iโm not sure if itโs really the flavor thatโs different, or am I just tasting the love and care that the cooks are putting into their dishes.
Many reviews say that the price is a little high, but for the quality that you get, I donโt mind it at all. I was able to avail of the free lime Thai iced tea. Instead of the normal Thai tea with milk, this had lime so itโs more of a summer drink which was appropriate during this extremely hot week that we had.
As we were getting ready to leave, more people were coming in. This is definitely a local gem, a place I donโt mind driving to from where I live 10 miles away to have a great meal. We are already talking about going back. Coconut Rabbit definitely has great quality that...
ย ย ย Read moreI had an amazing lunch experience at Coconut Rabbit! I've been eyeing this spot for a while, and finally tried it out. Let me tell you, their food is incredible.
If you're looking for a mouth-watering appetizer, I highly suggest trying their Coconut Dumpling. The filling is stuffed with shrimp, crab, and chicken, and each dumpling is accompanied by a slice of fresh pineapple and cucumber, with a delicious side salad. It's a perfect start to your meal.
For the main course, I strongly recommend their Salmon Panang Curry. The salmon is cooked to perfection and served with a generous portion of crispy green beans and peas in a delightful red curry sauce. The dish also comes with a side of rice that is enough to feed two people. Their seasoning is spot-on, and the spiciness is just right.
While the lunch prices are reasonable, the menu options are limited, and there's an additional charge if you choose to substitute the meat. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, regularly checking in on us for water refills.
Overall, I highly recommend trying out Coconut Rabbit, especially for these two dishes. Trust me, you won't be...
ย ย ย Read moreLocated in a large strip mall. The service was good though there were only a couple other customers there on a Saturday mid-day. The food was semi-pricey for what it was. We ordered the following which was more than enough for 4 people: -Coconut Rabbit dumplings- Do not be mistaken. There is no coconut nor rabbit, but the dumplings were delicious with various veggies and spices. -Tom Kha Noodle soup- It was good as we like coconut based soups, but it wasn't anything special as it was just chicken, coconut and noodles. -Papaya Salad- pretty tasty. Got it mildly spicy. 3 medium sized shrimp -Pad See Ew- Flavor was good, but sadly there wasn't much Chinese Broccoli. Pumpkin Curry- Mildly sweet from the pumpkin. Good flavor. They give you a bowl of rice shaped as a heart. Definitely would need more rice or optional upgrade of roti with it. For more see IG:...
