123 Pho Torrance — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Ordered Summer Rolls and Pho Summer Rolls came first, which is great cuz I hate when places bring it after they give me the main meal. I was expecting a peanut sauce, but instead got a different, very light sauce. Don't know what it was. It didn't taste bad, but I was looking for the thicker sauce, so I used the hoisen sauce they provided.

The pho, I liked that I could choose 3 meats. However when it came, the meats were essentially stacked right in top of each other in their respective categories. So a slab of brisket and a slab or rare flank. The flank wasn't as bad to peel apart. The brisket though, I picked up in bundles. The broth was rather bland. They gave a hard to squeeze lemon, and 3 pieces of jalapeño which one of them seemed to only be the outer skin. After putting those and the bean sprouts into the broth, I only tasted bean sprouts.

Overall, area is new and they are giving it a rich atmosphere (in a not so rich city). Its nice atmosphere though, but food, I probably won't come often.

Their Pho is not good, over cooked and flavorless. Service is horrible!!! Went to eat there with friends and our children. Our children sat on a table next to us, employee by name AJ came to our children and told them that her manager was watching them through the cameras and since they were done eating, the manager said that they had to leave. Our children are all 13 and we had a 3 year old as well. We then asked her what was going on and she said that the children had to leave so that other people could sit there. we told her we were not done eating and those were our children. She then threatened us by telling us she was going to call security to kick the kids out. I told her to go ahead and call them, a guy not in any type of uniform showed up with her and said we all had to leave because we didn’t agree with the kids waiting outside while we finished eating. The food is nasty, not worth putting up with the horrible customer...

After getting my pho, the broth served was lukewarm, and the rare steak was not cooking properly. Despite my reluctance to complain, I brought this to the attention of a staff member with long hair. Unfortunately, rather than addressing the problem, he insisted that the dish was meant to be served as is. I explained that in my previous visits, the rare flank usually cooks slightly in the broth, resulting in a rare, not raw, texture. Disappointingly, he simply added a small amount of hot broth to the dish, which did not resolve the issue.

Subsequently, I approached another staff member who promised to remake the dish. However, this was not fulfilled, and instead, the broth was reheated. Regrettably, I was unable to finish my meal and will not be returning...
