I waited a long time to write this review to be sure I wasn't reacting emotionally to our experience there, and to give the dogs time to recover and see what, if any lasting effects there would be. We initially tried them out for daycare because they're 5 minutes from home, and it seemed fine. Dogs were happy to go there. I had to take a last minute trip and decided to try them for boarding my two dogs for 5 days starting on 4th of July. These two dogs were best friends, always sleeping and hanging out together. They went to the dog park almost daily, and they've done cage free boarding and daycare at Cage Free K9 with zero issues. I waited until 8p on the 4th to drop them off figuring I'd let the other dogs get fed and settled. When I arrived I found one kid trying to manage SIXTY dogs by himself. He was sweating and stressed and I never should have left my pets there. On the 6th I got a call the dogs had been involved in fighting and I needed to get home. When I arrived back, early and at great expense, they were both beat up with multiple wounds and punctures all over their faces, legs and neck and ears. They had not been taken to a vet to be seen. The workers told me the second night was when the fighting happened, that there were two people trying to manage 50 dogs overnight, (better than the night I dropped them off, still an unacceptable human to dog ratio) and that their policy was to stick all the dogs in a room together and turn off the lights. It must have been a terrifying fight club in there. They also told me it was my dogs fault. I guess I cannot have an opinion on that statement as I was not there to witness, I can only go by the fact that they got along and cuddled together at home, hung out with many other dogs at the dog park and the other daycare and boarding facility with no issues whatsoever. They also both live with our other little dog. Furthermore a boarding/daycare facility should be staffed appropriately with people trained to PREVENT issues. I just wanted to get them out of there and took them to the emergency vet clinic where they both had their wounds cleaned and were prescribed antibiotics and given cones to prevent them from licking the wounds. They're both scarred physically, remain traumatized and are now fighting one another and unable to get along. They're afraid of other dogs and are easily startled and reactive when they're out for walks. It takes them a moment to realize they're not in danger and to calm down. It's been a nightmare of expensive vet bills, trainer visits, stress and danger for them, us and my third 11 pound dog. Thank god I didn't leave the little one there. I'm facing having to rehome one of my dogs as they cannot get along anymore. I would not recommend boarding dogs there, they were understaffed at night and their lights out policy is dangerous in my opinion. No one from there has ever followed up with me to check on them. I will say that they did attempt wound care on their own but they did not have a vet on staff nor can they prescribe antibiotics which are vital for dog bites, so that's not enough. They did keep me updated on their condition while I scrambled to get back from the east coast. The owner offered to cover vet bills but I just didn't have the energy or time to go back there. I now spend every day making sure they're not trying to kill each other at home while we try to work through this. We are heartbroken...
Read moreIf I could give more than five stars, I would. South Park Doggie Adventureland has truly been a blessing in my life. As the proud mom of two standard poodles who occupy a massive portion of my heart, I don’t hand over their care lightly. I’m not a particularly trusting dog mom—it’s rare that I ever feel anyone can care for my girls as well as I can. That said, life (and work and travel) sometimes requires us to take a leap of faith and trust others. I’m beyond grateful that my leap led me here.
This isn’t just a dog daycare. It’s an interactive, mentally stimulating, and thoughtfully run facility filled with a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable staff. As an education administrator, I immediately recognized and appreciated the intentionality and planning that goes into their daily programming. It’s not just dogs running around—there’s structure, purpose, and even themed activities that help socialize and engage them in fun and enriching ways. My girls seem to absolutely love it here—and have made plenty of furry friends along the way.
When I have to travel, the peace of mind I get from South Park Doggie Adventureland is priceless. I can check in anytime on the WebCams to see my girls playing happily, but what really puts my heart at ease is the daily report card—complete with updates, feeding notes, and adorable photos. These are provided whether they’re just there for a day of play or if they’re boarded for an overnight stay (which they call a “staycation”—and it truly is!).
I appreciate so much about this place: • The option to reserve a VIP suite so my girls can bunk together • The staff’s willingness to provide honest feedback—including when a behavior needs gentle correction (rare, but I want to know) • The ability to book baths during their stay (because what dog parent wants to come home from a long flight to two smelly pups?) • And most of all, the compassionate care they provide every single time
One experience that stands out happened when my younger pup wasn’t eating during her stay. She was likely overwhelmed, anxious about my absence, and didn’t want to miss out on the fun—it worried me terribly. Sarah, a staff member I’ll never forget, spoon-fed her wet food just to make sure she got some calories in her system. The next couple of days thereafter staff continued to spoon-feed my puppy to ensure she receive nutrition. That’s the kind of care they give here. It’s not just a job to them—they truly care.
The hours are convenient, the staff is professional and well-trained, and their communication is excellent. They take detailed notes, send text updates, and are incredibly understanding—especially for a mom like me, who is admittedly a little high-strung when it comes to her fur babies.
South Park Doggie Adventureland is truly a gem. After doing an extensive amount of research and visiting multiple centers, I can confidently say this is one of the most well-run, thoughtful, and trustworthy facilities out there. I’m excited for the next chapter—swim lessons!—which will be taught by a trained staff member in a safe, progressive way.
To everyone at South Park Doggie Adventureland: Thank you. Thank you for helping this working mom feel supported, understood, and most importantly, at peace when she has to be away from...
Read moreThis place is great!! My 11-year-old chocolate Labrador has so much fun here. I feel good knowing there are trainers and staff around at all times, monitoring for safety. It’s also nice to have the option to have her bathed/groomed there too!
11/1/21 Three months later update…
It takes a lot for me to trust people with my fur baby, Dace, but I know that she’s in great hands with the staff at Adventureland. It’s clear that the staff truly enjoy the dogs under their care. I appreciate the report card and photos that I get when my dog is there. It’s obvious that she’s having a blast which puts me at ease. My dog is almost 12 years old and had two ACL surgeries in 2015 and 2016 and therefore gets tired, sore and stiff if she is overly active so I was initially worried that all the playtime would be too much for her, but the staff gives her a “nap time” and brings her inside for periodic breaks, which has helped tremendously.
Adventureland goes above and beyond. For example, while I was away over Halloween weekend, I was given the option to have her participate in a Halloween event in which they dressed her in cute costumes, did a photoshoot (see attached photos), and sent her home with a goodie bag 🎃🦴
Having a place where I know my pup is happy while I am away allows me to relax and enjoy my time more. I highly recommend Adventureland for both daycare...
