27th Street Bakery — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I took a trip down memory lane on Thanksgiving. My late sister and I made so many trips to this bakery dating back to the.1970s. The shop had changed. It has expanded. I was faced with getting my old standbys or new items that would rock my world. It was a tough decision, but I managed ot by size. A got a whole cake , a slice of a different cake. I also got individual sweet potato pies, pecan pies and peach cobbler. Variety is the spice of life. I felt so rewarded after leaving. Every day from Thanksgiving on, I enjoyed one of my desserts. This little hole in the wall location is hard to describe. As in one hand, they offer a selection of desserts that are not located everywhere like sweet potato pie and fresh baked pumpkin, and on the other, some of the slices of cake almost tastes like the box kind - except for the frosting, the frosting does seem home made, also my issue is the wrapping of slices, since I don't think they make it every day, they wrap it in clear wrap to preserve it, but it gives it a certain wetness when you open it, ultimately - the red velvet cake/carrot cake/and German chocolate do taste really good and recommend, their cookie taste like a snickerdoodle and...

I had seen the promo on TV about the 27th STREET BAKERY - A 60 year old Black Owned Family Business that serves the community. OMG! This touched my heart. This became a "WIN - WIN" Support a small business and lift the spirts of essential workers during Covid-19.
