Sweet, nice, cozy breakfast/lunch cafe. We waited in line for 20-30 minutes and were seated inside. Even though they were full and busy, it didn’t feel like we were crammed sardines with other diners or when staff was passing through/by, which is something I hate about some restaurants. The decor is bright, clean, and interesting. Staff, in general, looked a bit standoffish sometimes just because they looked really focused, but were kind and friendly when we actually spoke. I never knew they were there. We were actually heading to another place but parking was nonexistent, which is enough to make us reconsider and I’m glad we did. Aeirloom had a MUCH more comfortable, cozy, and attentive atmosphere than the other place. As for the menu, we ordered the Prosciutto Benny and whichever one had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on an English muffin, with rosemary potatoes on the side. Their hollandaise sauce was odd to me initially, just because it tasted so different from what I’ve had before, and was a thinner consistency. BUT, boy was it a great combination of flavors in my Benny. Even the “surprise” mandarin spice hidden under the perfectly shaped, puffy poached egg was delightfully nice to have in there. Don’t be afraid to try new things! I liked that the dish wasn’t swimming in hollandaise sauce, like it can be with some places, and it wasn’t very heavy either which I like. The fact that they prepare food with unsalted butter was also great. Flavorful and tasty all around. The only “disappointing” thing, if I had to pick something, would be that the side of breakfast potatoes weren’t actually roasted. They mostly tasted like boiled potatoes that were cubed and briefly tossed around the pan with the herbs/spices, so they were mostly soft with no crust or “cronch”. Their coffee is a pretty good black coffee but not my favorite. Their iced hibiscus tea was tasty. Bathrooms in good, clean condition. We saw some paninis and burgers pass by, and they also looked great. Parking- there is a small lot in the back and street parking on 3 sides...
Read moreTLDR; This place would usually be a 4/5 star experience but unfortunately the service I experienced was so slow. It was honestly frustrating. Food, price, and ambience are good but service can really make or break your experience and I can't look past it.
First the good... The food is really good. There's plenty of it for a reasonable price. Here's what I ordered:
(1) THE SPICY TOMATO ($13): this is a wet omelette with tomatoes, eggs, and Serrano peppers. It's so good when dipped in the baguette and adding a bit of feta + cucumber on top for texture. If you'be had egg drop soup before, it kind of tastes like that but less watery.
(2) BRIE LA LA ($13): poached egg on top of a crispy sourdough smeared with pesto, topped with bacon. The potatoes are alright but I enjoyed this. You really can't go wrong with pesto, brie, and eggs.
(3) CHALLAH AT ME ($12.95): Kind of like a French toast, the challah bread is coated with cereal that gives it an extra crunch which I like. Not too sweet either!
The bad...
It's really the service. We get sit down and ignored most of our meal. Reading the reviews, it seems like service is a hit or miss and unfortunately, service was a miss for me. After we finished with our meal, it literally took 20 minutes before I was able to track someone down to get our check and a to go box.
I do want to note that the busser was really nice and did a lot of the work that our waiter was supposed to do (I.e. fill up our water).
I might come again to test the service and update my review because I really do like the food and atmosphere! Until...
Read moreI am foodie to my core and I am so in love with this place! I drove past it on my way to Trader Joe's a few weeks ago and it looked super busy. I finally went yesterday and here are my insights: Location/Ambiance: It's a bright open space that seems as though I'm either in a vineyard or cottage in some foreign country. Parking was also very easy to find in the back. Business Meetings: I can totally see this place being great for a business meeting where the sound isn't too loud, beautiful in its interior design, and close to the 134, 101, and 170 freeways. Service: Amazing customer service. The staff was observant and attentive, our glasses were always full and the staff was very polite with customers and each other (I hate it when staff is rude in front of customers). You can tell the staff is in sync. LAST BUT NOT LEAST Food: Most importantly, the food was amazing! I tried their "Guilt Free" plate since I've been trying to eat healthier and they had so many healthy options! I had their gluten free banana pancakes and let me just tell you, they melted in mouth with their organic maple syrup. My brother had the Eggs Benedict and loved them too, he's very picky. Everything was fresh, tasty, and felt like I was in cafe in Paris drinking my espresso having breakfast.
I can't...
