Ay Papa Que Rico — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I decided to give this establishment a go as I was starving and it was on my way home from a 12 hour shift.

First impression when entering is that it is a pretty clean place for a mom and pop shop. They seem to be very well stocked and take pride in keeping what they have clean and in order.

I ordered an Asada Burrito as that was what I was craving. The burrito was solid. Asada is tender and has good flavor. The other ingredients were good as well. I appreciated that the pinto beans weren't just bland. I'm usually disappointed with the pinto beans from a lot of places, but theirs is pretty tasty.

The chicken tacos were okay. Tortillas were tender but still held together when taking a bite. I liked the grilled onions on top. The chicken was okay. I only got the tacos to try the chicken. The diced chicken for the tacos are just okay. They probably use chicken breast because it was kind of dry.

For the salsas provided, I found that the green salsa was the most flavorful. I actually really like the green salsa a lot. The red salsa had a little bit of flavor and a little more heat than the green. I appreciate that they were not stingy with the salsas. They hooked it up with more than enough salsas without me even having to ask for any.

My one big complaint is that they have ceiling fans with lights above the blades. It causes a strobing effect in the room. It was getting me a little dizzy and nauseous.

Overall, I'd definitely come back for the food. Maybe I'll come back and try the whole chicken that people are raving about in the reviews. I would also like to try the desserts they have on display. They look...

Let me start with the good points. chicken smells and tastes great. green salsa is not spicy at all red one a little but has more taste than the green one . price is so so service is good. been to the one in van nuys they are about the same when it comes to service. beans and rice taste delicious place looks clean employees very friendly register girl very friendly tambien. I ordered the 1/2 chicken combo with Mac and cheese and coleslaw and 2 pupusas: cheese a revuelta. By far the best flame broiled chicken I’ve had. Super moist and full of flavor. The Mac and cheese has a very natural flavor which I really enjoyed and the freshness of the coleslaw was one of my favorites since it was not sweet like many other places.
