I found this place in San Pedro. I was actually going next door to the Mexican food restaurant but it was closed that day. I am glad Big Nick's Pizza was open! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The ambiance was nice. Not what you'd expect from their little strip row of shops location. It was nicely built out and had great decor. It has two sides to it. One side is where you place your order/kitchen and the other side is a cozy dinning room with a bar. Wood paneled ceilings and walls with dark rich stained wood. Beautiful stacked stone adorned the top section of the walls from the wall panels up to the ceiling. Nice lighting, it wasn't too dark that you couldn't see but dim enough to feel relaxed. looked like a great place to eat, relax have drink and mabye catch a game on one of the many TV screens. Clean restrooms too.
While we were waiting for our food, we kept seeing dishes of great looking pastas being served to other patrons.
My wife and I went for a light lunch. We both had a slice of pizza and we shared a Greek salad. The pizza was fantastic. It came out hot to the table by the server. The crust was great the toppings were plentiful with just the right amount of cheese. Perfect. I had sausage and pepperoni, my wife had mushrooms and black olives. Both taste and texture were outstanding.
The Greek salad was unique. All vegetables. No lettuce or any leafy greens. It had tomatoes, bellpeper, onion, cucumber, kalamalta olives, pepperchinni peppers and feta chesse. Balsamic dressing was the perfect dressing too. Everything looked, smelled and tasted delicious! Washed it down with an old fashioned creme soda. What a surprise as we are not local to San Pedro but do visit friends there.
If you are anywhere near San Pedro, do yourself a favor and eat here. You won't be disappointed. Great friendly service, great food and great place to sit and enjoy it all.
Us supporting local small businesses is great for the people who work hard to remain in business these days. #bignickspizza #buylocal...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews but for Big Nick's I really just had to. It had over a thousand reviews with about 4.5 stars so me and my girlfriend were thinking this place HAS to serve some good pie and we were hyped...Nope. I'm not exaggerating when I say it is absolutely in the top 3 worst pizzas I've ever had, and that I'd rather have ordered Little Caesar's. Bigger disappointment than my life. Yes I'm being a hater. It's justified.
We got a large pepperoni and a medium Alfredo chicken pizza totaling to like $50 and some change. Firstly, their crust has quite literally no flavor whatsoever and feels like warm damp cardboard. ALL of the toppings slide off its slice when you pick it up. The breading is soggy and oily with no backbone whatsoever, not the slightest hint of crisp. Just warm greasy floppy dough with some sauce & cheese thrown on top. The Alfredo sauce has zero flavoring, just tastes like you're eating hot cream pizza with frozen spinach & chicken. You HAVE to eat these pizzas with the cup of ranch you get in order for it to be close to palatable.
There's no love in the food they make, the whole "God Father" gimmick is probably how they keep the doors open. Also one of the girls at the front be tweaking fr 😷. Save your money. I don't know how they have so many good reviews, people must like mediocre (AT BEST) soggy pizza. Ruined the end of my gf and I's beach date 😂. The best part about Big Nick's is being able to throw any leftovers away and make more space in your refrigerator.
Overpriced pizza that tastes like dog farts. Actually I bet that'd have more flavor, I was just searching for something bad to compare it to and their food ended up being worse than what I used to compare it with....
Read moreWe have been going to Nick's for years especially during covid. We just placed an order and total wasn't right so we asked. We were told that prices went up LAST WEEK. We then told them it hasn't changed on website and she didn't want to hear it. So she said thank you and have a nice day then hung up on us. We called back to speak to a manager and immediately was put on hold after we told her we want the manager. So we hung up and called back again and got put on hold immediately no greeting what so ever. Finally got the manager and there was no customer service there either, his response to us telling him we won't be coming back was......we will be sorry to lose your business. This is the worst customer service, any good manager will try and make it right. Nick's use to be our number one choice, but if you don't care about customer service then this is the place for you. They are always busy so they have gotten to big for their britches and now they think they have enough customer not to worry. Word of mouth is hugh every review website i find will have this review.
There is a better Italian place a few miles away named Raffaello on W 7th St. That knows how to treat...
