My favorite is the Birria Fries, which are asada fries but with birria, so it is cheese, pico de gallo, and the meat (Birria). The fries are nice and crispy, not too soft, not too crisp, just enough to not be soggy or chewy. The birria is tender and flavorful with aromatic spices and has a melt-in-your-mouth texture with every bite. I love the fact that they dont just pour nacho cheese like many places do. They actually use real cheese that is beautifully melted, transforming into a gooey, adhesive layer that binds everything together. Don't forget to ask for their homemade salsa, the red one sheeeesh, I feel in Mexican dishes the salsa either makes or breaks the dish, and this one compliments the dish beautifully making it the amazing meal it is. I highly recommend eating here. I love just about everything I've tried so far. Trust me, I've been a loyal customer since shortly after this restaurant first opened and have continued to return regularly. Fire 🔥 Mexican food, if you dont try it, you are truly missing out,...

I got turned on to birria on a trip from Guadalajara to Leon. When I returned to Los Angeles, my quest began to find a place that rivaled the taste I experienced in Mexico. My son happened on Birrieria Familia Castro while doing an online search. To our luck, the restaurant happens to be really near our new home.

One taste and our entire family is hooked on BFC! Family owned and operated, not only is the food incredible, but the folks who work there are among the nicest you'll find anywhere.

If you're looking for a great meal and a restaurant that specializes in birria, run, don't walk, right on over to BFC. And if you haven't tried birria, you owe it to your taste buds! You'll find plenty of street parking, and a family ready to serve you up one of the best meals in...

the tacos were tasty and what really made this a special lunch was the service! felt like we had just walked into their bbq party and we were immediately taken care of. family owned and operated. my partner and i got the birria tacos/ quesatacos, a small consome, and 1 mexican coke. the birria and consome were soo tasty and they split up the consome for us to share in 2 separate cups and offered us another coke since we were splitting one and gave us a cup to split the soda 😭❤️ very thoughtful people. wish i took a pic of the food - it was served in painted terracotta plates as well. all in all, it was lovely. come hungry, bring cash,...

Such a gem! The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Lovely people that put a lot of care into their food and want to share it with their guests. They make everything in house from scratch. We got the quesabirria taco combo plate, side of consommé, horchata, and jamaica. Food came out quick. The quesabirria tacos were delicious and generously filled. The consommé also had a lot of meat. The beans were so good--rich, savory, and comforting. The horchata was amazing. Nothing beats homemade. Not too sweet. You can even get a little texture from the rice. Jamaica was very good as well.

Is it worth it? Yes, yes, yes, 5 star food at a hole in the wall. Birria is awesome. I had the Birria torta and paid extra for real avocado slices. The meat will melt in your mouth, no chewing needed. In my opinion What makes this place special is the fact that it is super busy. The large amount of sales makes sure that the food is as always fresh. We were there on a Tuesday at about 11:30am and there was a wait of 20 minutes to get a seat. Mind you there's only 4 tables inside. Good things come to those who wait.

I give 5 stars for the whole restaurant experience, staff was polite and very respectful. Food was worth the wait, everything fresh and up to the point, loved the authentic plates and simplicity of the restaurant design. Prices are fair and a $2.5 taco hits the spot as well. I had the birria plate with some salsa roja and I tell you that was very good, meet tender, portion good enough to fill a grown man! Will be back and recommend you try them out!
