Timen House — Hotel in Los Angeles

I was going through something last night and decided to call Timen House. I asked if there were any rooms available and how much were their rates. I believe it was a woman who answered the phone late at night, and the first thing she said to me was, “what?”. It was a lack of communication from her end to respond in such a poor manner. I repeated my question to her, which then lead to her asking me, “What time is it?”. I was very confused, and told her the time. She proceeded to say, “It’s late, why are you calling at this time?” In a joking way. I didn’t understood why she was behaving this way towards me, and I repeated my question to her for the third time. She told me she refuses to help me because it was already late while laughing over the phone. I told her she was rude and hung up.

This incident happened on March 22, 2025 at 12:49 AM, Saturday morning. The person working this shift has no customer service and poor skills on making a business money. Whoever is the manager, at least look into this situation cause the way how she treated me over the phone last night was uncalled for. It also makes no sense for her to make a call into an unnecessary situation. If that was the case, they should have never picked up the phone — lacking common sense.

I’m aware that motels operate throughout different hours of the day and night. I never had an issue trying to find a place to sleep and rest regardless of time.

*Response to your message: I don’t understand why you’re blaming me. Okay, Google doesn’t allow you to change your hours of operation and visiting the website would have been ideal to check, however, you’re completely dismissing how I was treated by your employee over the phone. It’s poor customer service to verbally say that they refuse to help. Your employee could have directed me to visit the website instead of being completely rude. I decided to avoid your services moving fwd, but after reading your response I’m baffled about you completely dismissed how your employee treated the whole situation and blaming me for “waking up your guest”....

I would not recommend this place as a place to stay. If you want a good experience in LA, stay near Santa Monica or in Hollywood - North Hollywood is a run down area.||||In terms of my stay, I was not happy at all. The accommodation is basically a house tuned into dormitories with hopes of trying to fit another bed where they can. Currently they have 30 beds squeezed into this house, with some beds just being placed next to the door while people walk in.||||People who stay here are long term residence who have made it there home, so you will be sleeping in a room with peoples positions everywhere. I was staying in a room with 4 people sleeping, and I do not know when this place was clean well last. After the first night, I woke up with bed bug bites all over my body which have still not gone (4 days later) and still itch. You are given pillows and quilts to use, which I do not know when they were washed last or replaced.||||The bathrooms are not very clean and have dirty towels on the floor. The cleaner comes in the morning and fails to remove these. It takes a very long time to get a spot to use the showers, I had to wait over 1 hour one morning.||||The owners claim that this is a couples free stay, but my mother woke up in the middle of the night to hear people having sex in the bathroom. Also the next night, the door was locked when she tried to get in, 5 minutes later it was unlocked to which a male and women walked out - it isn’t too hard to guess what was happening.||||You do not have any privacy here and the long term residence are all open to 420, so the whole area smells of weed - with an outside seating area (next to the rooms) dedicated to smoking. I am not a fan of this, and wanted to breath clean air - not available here.||||If you are looking to be a long term resident, I need of cheap accommodation and do not mind where you are staying, then this is you place to stay. Mike is nice and all about the money, rewards, and comfortability. However, his wife runs the show. She is very aggressive, and is a poor communicator with darker colored people (If you are not of darker skin, and have not faced this woman's wrath, this is not for you; if you are and you haven't seen this side of her, then lucky 'You'). She can be polite, but when someone or something upsets her, she is subliminally and subconsciously racist, and WILL curse you and put you out. On the darker side, I have encountered BEDBUGS, COCKROACHES(big, dark brown), and ROACHES(Smaller, light brown). Once again, his wife will make you sound like you are crazy if you address it, and will convey that they DO NOT have bedbugs. But they have a very expensive machine that emits high heat, somewhere around 80° to 90°F/144°-162°C. Bedbugs actually are smart enough to hide, roaches have been around since the dawning of time, so there's that. Do I sound bitter and the answer is No, purely stating observations. On the bright side, there are televisions connected to satellite TV all over, great Wifi, A/C, washer and dryer, 420 friendly, a lot of affable people coming and going, and not far from In-N-Out, Taco Bell, Goodwill Industries, CVS, 24hr Subway, and the North Hollywood...
