My husband ordered us Carne asada burritos on Thursday, and it was so bad that I had to leave a review. Im not sure what's going on but the man who has been cooking there for many years was not there this day. We move out of the area but when we come this way we are always excited to get our favorite Carne Asada Burrito. Its usually the best burrito is Los Angeles if you ask us. We eat at all the taco trucks and Campos was #1, until our last visit. So I'm saying this to make the restaurant aware that something is wrong and you will lose customers if you don't get your chef back. Who ever was in the kitchen even cooked the tortilla chips wrong. I'll be honest I didn't finish mine, the little bit of meat they put was chewy like thick gum with no flavor, the rice was mushy loaded the burrito with beans. Look at the photos I attached and tell me if I'm wrong. I'm sorry but it was shockingly gross. We paid almost $30 for 2 burritos and If I wasn't busy on this day I would have came back for a refund. Its sad because we really enjoy having favorite places to go, and favorite menu items. Everything that we enjoy is being taken away, like the 99 cents store closing down, and now good food is being tampered with, and its hard to find a satisfactory meal. Everything is now in the past. Will Campos bring back the chef that gave them a good name in the neighborhood? Will they close down too? BRING BACK THE CHEF! BRING BACK THE CHEF! GIVE HIM A RAISE! BRING BACK THE CHEF!

My husband and I came in craving some traditional Mexican crispy tacos, and we left absolutely delighted. Perfectly crunchy, topped with just the right amount of cream, guacamole, and cheese. They were so good I ended up eating six — that’s how tasty they were! The service was quick and friendly, the place was clean and cozy, and the food had that true homemade flavor. We’ll definitely be coming back. 💰 My husband and I spent around $30–50 total, and it was worth every penny.

Who would have thought - a breakfast burrito withOUT cheese? And could you try a little harder with the "home style potatoes?" Seriously, just a few more mins of cooking & you get these (bottom pic) - NOW they're home-style, since I fixed them - at home!

This review started with attempting to call the restaurant within the hour of it's closing several times with no answer. Upon arriving we deduced that the employees ignored the phone, in order to ensure they do not have to take orders close to 9, so that they could close quickly and go home as soon as possible.

The employee who closes the store with the chef was one of the laziest, most disrespectful people I have ever had the displeasure of ordering food from. When we ordered two burritos specifically different, listing the ingredients very clearly, he looked at us like he was out in space. We asked him if he understood that they were different, because we clearly saw he didn't do anything on the point of sale to change the order. Turns out we were right, that the order was put through wrong, and we had to specifically tell the chef that his coworker did it wrong and how we truly wanted it.

After years of getting beef tacos with no salsa on them, they were done differently this time, and when brought to their attention the response was, "that is how it has always been." We asked if they could please fix the error by removing an ingredient from the tacos, and they flat out refused to assist, telling us to use the forks behind us and do it ourselves.

If this employee is who we have to deal with whenever we order food from Campos, we will be taking our business to Titos Tacos from her on out - at least their portions are more respectful, and their service...

This is not fine dining, so I rate it for what it IS. Essentially great fast food. I get my food as quickly as I get Taco Bell and faster then I get Fel taco. However the "Mexican" food here is legit Mexican food rather than styrofoam fake mexi-fast food. But what really sets them apart are their cabeza street tacos (served daily) and their menudo soup (served till it's gone on the weekends). Get there early if you want menudo on a Saturday morning. It's usually gone by 10:30am. I get mine with pata on the side (if you're Mexican, you know) and they have a toppings bar with everything you need. The cabeza tacos are better than I've had in Mexico, they are juicy and sticky, and gelatinous in all the right ways a cabeza (beef cheek) taco should be. Perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. The Menudo, well, I'm a sucker for good Menudo. I get it when I can wherever I am. I've had it disappoint me in relative terms, but I've never disliked it. But the Campos Menudo is the best I've had... Anywhere... How? I understand that each Campos restaurant that serves weekend menudo has it made by the same elder Mexican woman who has obviously mastered her craft. I look forward to Saturdays just to stand in that line with all the hangover handlers waiting to get theirs. So good. Is it...
