Yo, lemme tell ya 'bout this bomb joint I stumbled upon called Carnitas El Momo! As an out-of-towner, I was on the hunt for some legit Mexican grub, and boy, did I strike gold!
First things first, the atmosphere was muy auténtico. You know, that cozy, down-to-earth vibe that makes you feel right at home? Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talkin' about. The joint was packed with locals, which is always a good sign when you're huntin' for delicious eats.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the carnitas! Oh. My. Freakin'. Goodness. These juicy, tender pieces of pork were a freakin' fiesta in my mouth! The meat was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of crispy edges to make you weak in the knees. I swear, I could've eaten those carnitas all day, every day, and never get tired of 'em.
And let's not forget about the tortillas, man! Fresh off the grill, warm and fluffy, they were the perfect vehicle for those heavenly carnitas. I mean, seriously, these tortillas were like little clouds of heaven, holding together the most flavorful goodness you could imagine.
Now, I gotta give a shoutout to the salsas too. They had this wicked salsa bar with all kinds of spicy concoctions. From mild to make-your-eyes-water hot, there was something for every spice lover out there. I loaded up my plate with a bit of everything, and let me tell ya, my taste buds went on a wild adventure. The salsas took those carnitas to a whole new level of awesomeness!
The staff at Carnitas El Momo were friendly as heck. They made me feel like family, answering all my questions and recommending their personal favorites. It's obvious they take pride in their food and want every customer to have the best experience possible. And trust me, they delivered.
So, if you're an out-of-towner like me and you're hankerin' for some mind-blowing carnitas, Carnitas El Momo is the place to be. It's a hidden gem that'll make your taste buds dance and leave you craving more. Just be ready to loosen that belt a notch or two, 'cause you won't be able to resist indulging in their mouthwatering delights. You can thank me...
Read moreI am not sure which location this is going to post under but it doesn't matter I have nothing but good things to say. We decided to hit the restaurant location first on a Tuesday for a late lunch..., well that was a mistake. We arrived @ about 2pm and we were greeted with an empty parking lot and a SOLD OUT sign. I was not too surprised by this so I said let's check out the cart location we drove over and were pleasantly surprised that they were there and ready to go. We were greeted pleasantly and asked what we would like we chose to have two items; the Queso Taco and the Mulita. We requested the pork shoulder on them all but she put us in for the mixed meat. She didn't hide it she just did and I didn't make a fuss when in Rome as they say. We had no idea how much food we were getting we ordered two each of the Mulita and one each of the Qeuso Tacos. We ate two of the Mulitas on the spot and were full so we ran the rest of the food back to the room. Let me tell you that's some good eating there, rich fatty and flavorful. This meal is not for the weak or you health nuts. This will fill you up and put some meat on your bones if your not careful. The Misses and I thoroughly enjoyed the Mulita and saved the rest for dinner later in the evening. We didn't end up getting in until 2am or so. Now remember how rich I said these things are. We were both very concerned about eating this and going straight to bed but we were both hungry so we decided to eat the Qeuso Tacos they were also rich, fatty and flavorful but didn't include cheese. We ended up throwing away our second Mulitas because we had a flight at 8am and it was just TOO early to eat something so rich. We were not happy... 😔 If you are in town Carnitas El Momo is a must experience. Be ready for the sticky fingers from the...
Read moreMy dad has been wanting to come here for awhile and we finally got the chance to.
We got here before 10:45am and there were a few people in line. By the time we left around noon, the line was out the door. So definitely get here early!
We basically ordered almost everything on the menu: mulita with skin, tacos with various meats (mine was with the burnt ends), torta with pork belly, and quesadillas with all the meats. They were all so delicious! They definitely know how to cook pork. I really enjoyed the mulita in all it's cheesy glory. I think next time I'll have it skin and burnt ends. Having the mulita and one taco was just enough for me, but I could seriously eat more tacos if I truly wanted to stuff myself. The tortillas were delicious and more on the thicker side, which is what I like. The quesadillas were very filling! My mom and sister couldn't finish theirs. We also ordered both agua frescas: the berry jamaica and the horchata. Both delicious! The jamaica had fresh fruit in it and the horchata had a lot of cinnamon, which is what I like.
The service was excellent! We were greeted with a smile and we got free tacos while we were waiting for our third order (yes, we ordered 3 times.. the last one being an order of all the meats to go).
I definitely want to come back here. This is one of the...
