Castle is a solid, affordable KBBQ with a 6 item $9.99 option that includes pork belly, bulgogi, brisket, and chicken. If all I want is bulgogi [and I want lots of it] I usually come here. They no longer have the skirt steak which was one of the best items.
I've been here 3 or 4 times the past year and have always had a good meal. The restaurant is kinda small so the wait can be 30 minutes+ for most nights, probably longer on weekends. I think they do reservations- helpful for a big party.
The food itself is average for a kbbq joint- they leave the meat in this aluminum storage near the entrance and probably have more in the back. I don't know how sanitary this is since the door open and closes a lot and I think it is exposed to flies and what-not. The banchan isn't too appetizing, but they do serve egg soup. The tables all have service buttons but sometimes they will only help one half of the table and not the other. They are quick with grill changes. There aren't any windows so the place can be really smoky- my friends' eyes were watering because the smoke went into their faces.
If you don't want to pay more than $15 for AYCE castle is a good place to go for dinner- just expect to wait in a ghetto parking lot, off/on service, and lots of smoke in...
Read moreAt Castle, the banchan were standard and included: pickled cucumbers, potato & macaroni salad (yum!), kimchi (pass), pickled daikon & bean sprouts. But let's get real, the banchan is not the star here. So how was the meat you ask? Well, with the $9.99 option, we got to choose from the following: brisket, bulgogi, marinated chicken, marinated porkchop, sliced beef belly, pork steak & sliced pork belly.
The brisket and marinated pork chop were good but the stand-out meat was definitely the chicken! It was marinated to perfection and SO TENDER. We must have ordered 4 plates of chicken but each grilled piece, like the last, was still soft and tender. I have no idea how Castle gets their chicken so tender but I would gladly cook only chicken, though it does have a longer grilling time, and cast all the other meats aside. THAT was how good the chicken was. However, I would pass on the bulgogi. I've had better and the marinade is too sweet. It almost tasted like I was eating candied meat at one point...bleh.
Bottom line: For $9.99 AYCE kbbq, it's pretty hard to top Castle. Also, parking can be a hassle since the parking lot is small and there only seems to be valet available. I parked about two streets away and found plenty of...

The atmosphere and vibe is very Hispanic. There's ONLY Reggaeton music that plays here. The majority, if not all workers, were speaking Spanish. So this isn't your typical Kbbq. It's definitely more targeted for the western crowd. The same goes for the food. It's not your traditional seasonings but more of a Western style.
I will say that the meats were well seasoned and tasted great. Quality is questionable for sure. I wasn't sure what we were eating when some of the meats arrived. Some of the brisket looked freezer burnt but tasted alright. The Banchan were all really good. They start you off with little sample sizes, and if they see you eat it all, they'll bring you a bigger portion of it.
The service is amazing. The staff check up on you constantly, making sure you're good on meats, drinks, etc.... they also came around frequently to change out the grill top. The only strange part was paying before you got seated.
I'd give this place 4.5/5 due to the quality of meats, but with the pricing, it doesn't justify a whole star. This is a place where people come to eat a lot for cheap and it provides...
