The bartender was drunk. I had to remind her what my first drink was twice while she was making it. I had to order my second drink three times before she remembered to make it, then she forgot where I was sitting, put the change in front of a different customer, and then blamed me for not getting my change. She also forgot to give me quarters when I asked for quarters in exchange for a dollar (the games take quarters); she was out of quarters, so she said she would gather some and then find me; after a while I returned to the bar and asked about my quarters, to which she replied “I’m sorry, I’m drunk, I forgot,” which is when I learned she was drunk; I didn’t get the quarters until she asked me to play a game of Mario with her and I explained to her I was out of quarters, because she never gave me the quarters I asked for; I also added that she never gave me my change for my second drink, which is when she blamed me - that’s also when I left. I would like to say, I’ve had good experiences here before, but tonight was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any bar, and it was only because the bartender was drunk and could not figure out how to do her job. The worst part is, I tipped her $5 for the first drink, because I had a 5, and I assumed she was having a hard day because I kept having to remind her what I ordered, and then because I never got my change for the second drink, she basically got $15 from me as “tip” money, and the service is all I have to complain about. I feel like she just robbed me of having a good time at what should be a pretty cool bar. And it’s my birthday today, I wanted to get drunk and I only got 2 drinks that I had to work way too hard for, I barely feel tipsy...
Read moreblipsy bar VIOLATES FEDERAL ADA LAW and refuses to admit disabled persons with a service animal! both the bouncer AND bartender were ignorant of federal ADA regulations. what an embarrassing and disappointing endeavor it was for me to finally take my therapist's advice and attempt to visit a local bar to socialize for the first time in nearly 2 years. ☹️ I thought, 'surely, in 2025, and in a city as big and liberal as Los Angeles, i shouldn't be worrying about this sort of discrimination.' but apparently, I was wrong. not only was I physically assaulted by the bouncer upon attempting to legally enter the establishment, but i had to endure the humiliation of an equally ignorant female bartender being insultingly condescending towards me and telling me i had to leave simply because I had my service dog with me. 😭 for god sakes, I had less trouble visiting black metal bars with my service dog in suburban Malmö, Sweden in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic than i had with this place! so i guess it's back to being a hermit and avoiding human stupidity for another 2 years (or longer, since the passage of time is apparently no guarantee that people will become any less ignorant, or any more capable or willing to realize their errors and adapt their behavior, despite even the most respectful, sincere, and articulate attempts to...
Read moreI honestly wanted to like this place because of the good reviews but after going in there it has me questioning the perspective of the people from LA on what they think is a good barcade. I travel a lot and have been to some awesome barcades for example Phoenix own Cobra Bar Arcade. So when I saw that this was a barcade in LA I was hoping this would be the spot to go to every Saturday-grab some drinks, meet people, hangout and game on. Well at least that was the idea-to start the games they have nobody was playing-not 1 person, honestly they were the kind of games you didn't even played even back when they were released. Maybe once or twice but let me tell you, I've never heard anybody say Paperboy is the greatest game of all times. I understand they're trying to go for a classic theme but paperboy and drinks just don't match-it sounds like a very depressing time. Changing they're whole line up of games with classic successful hits (that people still play today) would improve the business of the bar because there was nothing cool or exciting about the games they have. If your thinking of the real estate, the machines inside have a bad ROI. They could be replaced with something better, at least throw in a fighting...
