Chef’s Shawarma Mediterranean Food — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I parked in front of this place to bring my 82-year-old grandmother to her appointment. I didn't want to needlessly wait inside and use up occupancy limits during a pandemic so I waited in my car. When I saw my parking meter expire, I added 45 more minutes.

An employee came up to my car, pulled down his mask, and started yelling into my car. He kept demanding I thank him for not having police ticket me. I just wanted to be left alone and keep the car clean for my grandmother.

As I helped my grandmother struggle back into the car, I could hear the employees talking smack about us. We just wanted to be left alone. I felt like at any moment they were going to weaponize police against us in these dire times. This place is dangerous for POC. I was terrified. I couldn't...

I arrived at restaurant, 2 people already eating, nobody in line. I ordered shawarma and hummus, no bread, no salad. He started preparing my order and another customer came in. Instead of finishing getting my take-out order ready, he decided to prepare the other customer's order since they were friends and spoke the same language. After finally getting my take-out and getting back to work I realized that he charged me for the bread that he did not give me, and I see that the shawarma is covered in some orange dressing that I dudbt ask for and have never had on shawarma anywhere ever before. Disgusting. Had to try and eat whatever meat didnt get covered in sauce. Hummus not that good either. I will never buy food from this place...

This review has been a long time coming. I have visited this place about 10 times now, each time the food has been delicious and consistent. The owner is kind to me and my dog and does his best to make it a welcoming place. The flavor of their chicken kebab is really good and the sauce they use for the chicken plate is delicious. The rice is always cooked well and really tasty as well. The same can be said for the small side salad, hummus, and pita bread as well. All very good and for a good price. Can't recommend it enough for a good lunch spot, but they are open till 7!...
