Chitchat Coffee + Matcha — Restaurant in Los Angeles

In the area with my family for lunch and stopped here for a coffee (husband), matcha latte (me) and hot chocolate for my 5 year old. My husband ran in to grab the drinks since my baby was asleep in the car seat. He came back with the drinks and, Surprise, a chocolate chip cookie! Wahooo! We couldn't resist, so we broke apart the cookie into thirds and dove in. Dear Lord, that cookie was so freaking delicious! Maybe a touch of salt to enhance the flavor, maybe browned butter? We didn't know, but it was soft and dense and delicious. Then I tried my matcha... What?! Light, almost fluffy and absolutely no bitterness. I told my husband to give it a try -"oh my God! That's dank 😂". Seriously, best matcha, I've had in a long time... Maybe ever? I didn't see how they made it but seems like maybe they made it properly with a whisk instead of how the big chains do it. Then husband said, try the coffee, "What the heck?! How is everything this good!?" Again, absolutely no bitterness, just insanely delicious. I asked my five year old for a taste of her hot chocolate but she downed it and only left the evidence of it all on her face. ☺️ "Good, I'm guessing?" She nodded. I purposely found this place online two days later to leave this review! I have never been inside, don't know anything about the quality of their decor, service or atmosphere, etc. but the drinks and cookie were absolutely incredible. The Baseline: For a coffee shop the baseline involves the quality of the roast, the taste of the coffee, and the preparation of specialty drinks/food items.

Food: The coffee here is really good and has a good taste based on the roast. The Chagaccino I had was a mushroom mix with monk fruit sweaters which took apart my personal guilt level. There are lots of choices for milk alternatives and they also serve matcha along with grab and go food offerings.

Service: The staff was friendly and efficient in preparing my order. My servers have always took great care in preparing my drinks.

Ambiance: This place has a fun decor and you get to watch the staff fix your drinks. It has a good flow with indoor outdoor seating but the indoor might as well be outdoor as the sliding glass is usually open to...

I’ve been coming to chit chat since they opened! However, since the pandemic, even less. Everytime I come, the drinks (regardless of which ever one i get) is always top notch! Quality is always there. If you didn’t like a particular drink they’re always happy to make one that you like.

I appreciate the steps they took to social distance and provide a safe space for everyone. Even though i don’t normally sit there but it makes me more inclined to do so because I feel safe.

I always seem to come in when Jenifer and Jake (the one with the mini beanie) are there, and what a dynamic duo! They always seem to be having a great time and in turn that elevates the mood of the whole cafe.
