Update: Iâd like to apologize for saying it was cookie dough ice cream instead of edible cookie dough. And while my wife actually knew it was supposed to be edible cookie dough I would like to rewrite my review after reading the response of the owner. Iâve tried to be as constructive as possible. My original review is at the bottom.
While these beignets bites may be for some, they are not what I wanted. If youâre expecting the fluffy and puffy fully coated treat from New Orleans this may not be for you either. Theyâre smaller more compact squares. I found them to be pretty dense but after hearing from the owner they recommend you warm them up if ordering delivery. Unfortunately Postmates does not say this in the description. Nor does it recommend you order at least an hour or two before they close to ensure the freshest possible product. I was a little disappointed that they weren't in covered powdered sugar. And after shaking the bag to mix the sugar around, it broke, which is to be expected considering delivery time and the naturally oily treats weakening the bottom. Maybe a slightly stronger bag could be used for Postmates and delivery?
I will try this place again in the future and double update my review if I have a different experience. Although this is a small business it does not exclude them from negative reviews or customer experiences. BUT, as I continue to write reviews good and bad, I will keep in mind the impact of what I write in terms of their success. I would hope that this owner does the same with their replies.
Iâll preface this review by saying I ordered through Postmates and it had a 15 minute travel time. However, the beignets I got were awful. At first I thought maybe it was the long car ride but then I remember Iâve brought home beignets from other places before and they've never deflated. Legitimately these were like stacked and pressed cardboard. The powdered sugar was all at the bottom of the bag instead of shaken on top. We also ordered the cookie dough ice cream which was more like a grainy paste with chocolate chips spread throughout.
Maybe we placed our order too close to when they close but I donât see how that explains the packaged ice cream. Overall really disappointed...
Read moreEffort to reward ratio heavily and negatively skewed =( Can't believe I am putting forth the effort to share my experience. I'm just one customer and this will change nothing as hundreds of other happy paying customers will offset any lack of business from me. Not the end of the world, I just know not to order the halo halo. Yup, I hated the ordering process just like many of the Yelp reviewers. Took way to long to find the square site when the QR wouldn't point correctly, I just ended up having to google it. One or two Square POS stations up front would solve many of the issues and frustrations from customers. I ordered the Halo Halo as I've been excited to try it and after getting through the annoying process of simply ordering it, it was ready one minute later. Somehow. I was physically present at the store front but did not see anyone make a halo halo. It all made sense when I was handed the halo halo...pre-made. I get it, more efficient and ready to go but at the cost of quality? I disagree. I was already frustrated but now defeated and just disappointed that all that effort to order instead of just ordering in person, I received an after thought product. It had a huge frozen block of ice in the middle, I couldn't even enjoy it until the ice melted. 30min later of walking in the sun wasn't enough. The plastic spoons are useless against the block of ice of course. I almost threw it away after the slap in the face of what was thought to be ok to give to a customer. I actually threw out the small fist sized block of ice that still remained so that I could actually consume the damn thing. I grew up with halo halo and would sometimes make my own, loved using that classic little plastic hand spun ice shaver, so fun. Although, the best I've had was on the side of the road along the 55 on the way to Bayambang. While the flavor was great and the ingredients true to a proper halo halo, absolutely not worth the time or money, just overall really disappointing. Happy to try other items but unless Bsweet changes the approach on their halo halo, I personally do not recommend it at all. Again, I am no one and have no expectations on the matter but this is my experience that I wanted to...
Read moreThis dessert spot seemed cute and their options looked delicious.
To start off, the cashier was very rude. I said hello after I walked up and looked her in the eyes. She ignored it and just asked what I wantedâŚwith an attitude. I told her what I wanted & was very specific. I know the stuff on the menu has variations on certain flavors. She asked me which variation of the flavor I wanted. Again, with attitude. She was acting as if she didnât want to be there or she didnât want to deal with me as a customer. I repeated myself on the item I wanted of the flavor I had chosen. I paid after she reviewed the order and walked away since she had stepped back to do something. Then she says thank you but she had already given me attitude the whole transaction so I ignored her.
She wasnât the only one with an attitude (or acting like she didnât want to deal with me)⌠the woman who handed my order over was just like the cashier. She either seemed like she didnât want to be working or like she didnât want to deal with me. I am very polite and quiet so I have no idea why they would act like that. I usually tip but the staff was not giving me good vibes so I left no tip.
The desserts were ok. I guess I was expecting more because they look delicious. I ordered the giant cookie (Cookie Monster) but it felt kind of dry. It broke apart easy. I was expecting a slightly different consistency. I also ordered the bread pudding but it was just ok. I would have been happy if the desserts were amazingâŚeven if the staff were total mehâŚ.for lack of a nice...
