I’ve been a long time customer, since the beginning days for Curry Zone. I always found the food amazing and service to be nothing less than spectacular, until tonight. After buying food for my wife and I tonight, we went home expecting yet another great meal from here. More than half way into the rice, I saw a band aid. I was very confused and asked my wife if she had a band aid, she responded with a no. I didn’t want to believe there was band aid in my food but as I sat there I couldn’t help but accept that fact that there was. My wife was just about to eat her food as I was finishing but she felt sick seeing that. I was still in shock and in denial. After that feeling settled , I felt nauseous and sick. I gave the restaurant a call and the owner answered. Again, I’ve been a long time customer and thought we had a mutual relationship as we were not always friendly towards each other. I told him the situation and he was as surprised as I was. I asked for a refund because it was a waste of money that my wife wasn’t going to touch her food, and I don’t mean to mention why it is from my end. He reluctantly agreed to refund. The owner offered to give us free plates the next time we stop by, but we did not accept that because of what just happened. It was the last thing on our mind. After he refunded me, the owner called me back a few minutes later yelling over the phone the I was a liar and only wanted free food. I could not give a response as he was shouting the whole time. My wife and I looked at each other dumbfounded as he was continuing to shout over the phone. When he finally simmered down I explained to him that I had no reason to lie as I have been a long time customer and was always fond of their food and service. He ignored what I was saying and again accused of being a liar with no integrity. Now, instead of apologizing and owning the fact there was a band aid in my food he instead called back to harass me. I’m still sitting here with that image of the band aid in the food and wondering if I should go get checked at the hospital. This incident only showed the owners true colors. I won’t ever be coming back here and will be seeking the proper steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again, and to ensure my health isn’t jeopardized. There was a band aid in the food you served. Own up to it and apologize like any other ethical person would. That’s absolutely disgusting and hope no else has to experienced...
Read moreI had been eyeing this place since it opened and I finally had the chance to go when I was coming home from the gym. I walked in and noticed how clean everything was and asked if they had lamb. They didn’t but they had goat instead; even better! Having been let down from Indian Sweets and Spices a few times, I can say that the food is remarkably fresh and the naan was made when I ordered. So fresh. So flavourful. The goat was so juicy and tender. It melted in my mouth. My grandfather who was a chef would be so proud of how their chef cooked such a difficult protein.
I called earlier to see if they take Apple Pay which they do. The problem for me was that they don’t take American Express which is linked to my Apple Pay and when I was ready to pay after they gave me all the food, I was unable to. Luckily the lady working there was so nice that she said that I could pay whenever I could. I told her I love walking distance from here and I will pay her immediately. This type of trust is not often found in the world anymore and it gives me so much for this business. It makes me proud to have people like this in our neighborhood.
Anyways, I’m returning back to pay them since I am walking distance from them. I had to walk it off. I look forward to coming back for a quick meal when I am stressed working at home.
Btw there Indian sodas are made with real sugar and not so bad. You ought to...
Read moreExcellent Indian food, especially for a take out establishment. The people who run this place are super nice as well. We got the chicken korma, tikka masala, Butter chicken, and Channa masala. Everything was fantastic. We took it all to go and ate at a nearby park.
You can either order a plate with 1, 2, or 3 items, or get a 16 oz portion for roughly $12. They also sell 32 oz portions. We got the 16 oz portions and it came with rice. We also got the garlic naan which was delicious. It is very fairly priced for the amount of food you get, cheaper than a sit-down establishment.
Note that they do not sell any beef, which I think is in keeping with Hindu principles, but they do have a goat curry which we are planning on trying next time. Also, there are very few tables inside and the place was very warm, they did not seem to run the AC, so we did not want to eat there. It is in a strip mall so parking...
