I really don't recommend shopping at this store. For over 10 years I've spent hundreds of dollars in the store and the return policy is terrible. As a professional makeup artist. you often buy many things, some of which you never use and when you want to return something that hasn't been used, they refuse to take it back. And when I went in to return something that I felt was pushed on me to buy that I didn't use, and I was going to exchange it for something else, they told me that I was no longer allowed to shop in their store. They said it was because when I was there the previous time, they made the decision not to sell to me anymore because I wanted to return something that I found for $10 less in another store and they refused to take it back or adjust the price even though it was never used or opened. This is just bad practice to refuse to take back unused items that you bought a few weeks before. This store is the worst. There's a reason it's always empty now, people are now going to Nigel's Beauty Emporium down the block all the time now, or Naimie's beauty supply. It's worth the drive to Burbank for Naimies. Stay away from this place and go to one of those two. Nigel's and Naimie's have much better service, policies and appreciation of the pros that shop there frequently and spend a lot of...
Read moreFumbling your way through doing your own hair color? The color specialist here was soooo amazing! Honest and straight forward, guiding me though the process. Itâs like having a friend whoâs done this for ages, understands what can be hacked at home, and what you really need to go to a pro for and why.
Loyal to what youâre trying to do vs the typical âofficial sales clerkâ which we all know and is not what weâre looking for. This kind of sale person engenders way more connection and loyalty to a store.
And yes, the store is really big (took over 2 store spaces on the block), and they have all kinds of product range. Kid in a candy store!
Yes itâs a bit out of the way but that lets then have a massive space with really the broadest selection Iâve ever seen in a beauty supply store (ok there was one in NYC ;)
This is why we live in citiesâŚto have fantastic in-person places that get us through our...
Read moreI bought a $400 hair curling iron from them and it stopped working after two brief uses. When I called to speak to the people at frends, they said that this is a widely known issue with this product. The sales person insisted that he warns everyone before they buy it- but I was 100% not warned or else I never would have spent that much money on a piece of equipment that wasnât guaranteed to work. The sales person said that he felt like the manufacturer of this place was running a scam. I feel like Iâve been scammed by frends! They offered to give me 50% off another expensive hair iron, but no replacement or fix for my broken one. I think itâs incredibly dishonest that they sell products that they know are faulty. Beware when you buy any investment pieces from them! They do nothing to protect...
