Mixed feelings as it was my first time and Covid changes things but there was a line to the end of the block due to social distancing, which I'm grateful for. Unfortunately, this seemed to cause bad behavior among those waiting. Specifically, 2 separate women who I observed cutting the line at the front, including one who waited until I got to the front to cut in front of me, then tried to fight me when I pointed out the line that was snaking behind me. It was a beautiful day so I let her argue with herself when she tried to pick a fight with me again and once I got into the market I found the vendors to be lovely. Maybe having someone posted at the entrance would be helpful. I really love that they're being careful to keep everyone safe. There was some more unneighborly behavior inside but if you can block out those types of shoppers you'll find that the market itself has an interesting mix of offerings by wonderful people. Read moreShould you miss the Silver lake farmers market on Tuesday because you were off to that yoga class, fret not! The Atwater Farmers Market has even worse parking options, but is well worth the hunt. The treasures abound, from the Date Man (who is also a screenwriter), to the chicken & egg farmer who always wishes you a good day, to the singing produce guy, across from the kiosk with the tastiest olives I have had since les picholines de France (salty black nuggets that are viscousy licorice bursts of flavor). And Highland Park's very own Sustain is a refilling station of all the home&body soaps and salves you may need. Bring your spare change, good cheers and stroll on through an Atwater gem. Makes you think of the other Atwater in Montréal. Now that's a cool market experience....
