El Charro Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

DISCLAIMER: I sincerely hope that by reading this review, I do not over hype this place for you, because it is seriously as good as it gets for me at this spot!

I'm a firm believer and not going to the same restaurant more than once because I live in LA and I am fortunate enough to have so many choices, that are actually worth it! That being said, I can get past convenience, and this place does it for being so close to work. So that's one star off the bat.

The servers are nothing short of friendly, helpful and just patient, with a fickle person like me who gets overwhelmed with so many good choices. That's another star!

Being in LA, you'd be surprised how I always end up finding parking, I think this is because 1) they aren't that easy to find (the first time - they are almost at the corner in between a clothing store and little mercardo). Their parking varies between metered and just plain street parking so I definitely recommend them for lunch mostly. Another star for always getting street parking.

Okay and now on to the food. I've come here at least 5 times already before making this review, so it's safe to say - THIS PLACE IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

Breakfast - I love their chilaquiles! and their breakfast combo is so cheap! $4.99 for a full to-go Styrofoam box and they can make your eggs any way you want it. Plus it comes with a drink !! I always end up eating half for breakfast and half for lunch cause its so much. So $5 gets you two meals and a drink. And surprisingly their chilaquiles isn't too greasy like other places i've had it so an additional plus

I always get their tacos for lunch and just try to change it up but i always have to get at least one of my tacos CHARRO STYLE.

Charro Style is basically kind of like fajita but better - they add guacamole, onions, and the very best part YUMMY NAPOLES (grilled/pan cooked cactus)

AL PASTOR - bomb bomb bomb !! My favorite! I recommend, reminds me of adobada. ASADA - your normal asada, nothing too special, but in that regard, it wasn't bad and i always order one of these BIRRIA DE RES - not my fave! rather salty....after the first time, i stay away from this. CARNITAS - nice and juicy - which is supposed to be standard but you'd be surprised how many places dry it out. So definitely try it here! LENGUA - my boss ONLY orders this, and it is soft and not rubbery...

We went with El Charro for our wedding catering. Jose and his staff were at the venue ahead of schedule. Everything was setup and ready to go at the time we asked for. We went with tacos, quesadillas, beans and rice, along with churros for a dessert. Jose's setup was professional and worked well to keep food service flowing. The tacos were delicious. We had about 100 guests, some who can be harsh critics of their tacos. We've been getting comments on how good the food was over the fee days after the wedding. The churros were delicious as well. We ended up with more food than needed but the churros disappeared after a handful of people were seen walking around with them and everyone else went to find them. Jose was easy to get ahold of and communicated with us from the time we first talked to him, through the sampling at the restaurant, then up to the wedding day. Very stress free process having El Charro catering and delicious food as well. Highly recommended for catering or a drive by the restaurant...

Jose & his team at El Charro are phenomenal! When contacting Jose about our interest in El Charro’s catering services for our wedding day, he immediately invited my husband & I to the restaurant to taste test the food. Upon arriving, his staff was already prepared with plates of food that included every appetizer & entree that they offer in the wedding package that we were interested in. My husband & I were so impressed by the food & customer service that we immediately booked El Charro as our caterer for our wedding day. Throughout the months leading up to our wedding day, Jose was very communicative, always responded promptly to our messages answering all of our questions & promptly provided our very strict venue with all of the proper documentation that they required. Our wedding day could not have gone any better! The setup looked very professional & our guests loved the food! Jose & his team at El Charro are professional, punctual, very affordable & provide outstanding...
