I was hoping for real Cuban food since the cook is also Cuban...I was highly disappointed..I ordered Ropa Vijea with rice and beans ...the green pepper and onions were uncooked which is part of Ropa Vijea recipe that takes awhile to cook..it was tasteless...the beans were hard ..rice was dry seemed like it was the two day left over meal My boyfriend ordered a Cuban Sandwich which at least tasted ok but hardly had any meat..we also ordered a mango drink with no milk...at least it tasted like mango The whole bill was a heart attack over $60.00 Over priced ...terrible tasting..small portion They should have made a Cuban sandwich/Cafe only and focus on what they could do better...the place was empty at 12pm Sunday...we should have not ordered from there but we came all the way from Torrance and were craving Cuban food.. Read moreIt is such a great experience, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. They have all kinds of traditional cuban foods, very authentic flavors (I am cuban). The menu is a build your own plate kind of set up, where you get to pick the sides as well as the meat. When I asked the owner for breaded beef steak, which was not on the menu, the chef quickly made it for me. They can do many more types of meats that are not necessarily on the menu, which really blew me away. This restaurant newly opened last month, and my only hope is that it prospers and stays there. Read moreI went with my sister to try it out for the first time and I loved it! We’re Cuban and we can say that this is as authentic as it gets. If you are already familiar with Cuban food there’s things off the menu that they know how to do as well and you can order. I had the Ropa Vieja con arroz y frijoles negros (Rice and black beans) and it was just how I remember having it in Cuba. They also have cuban sodas/drinks. Overall I loved the place, the owner is very friendly and the service was great. She speaks Spanish as well!
