Picked up GFCF cake for a birthday party. I remember trying the mint icing and brownie cake, and found it tastes better than agave. However during the party, the cake was better than when we had tasted the cupcakes with same ingredients before. It was fresh, mint icing was delicious and the cake was a crumbly and moist as anything! Service was wonderful, and everyone couldn't believe it was a GFCF cake! They wanted more. So 5 stars for an awesome tasting cake and service (in-store and online with Julian cake ordering)! Great online communication! Oh, BTW, when picking up the cake with my bday boy, they had MJ music on, his favorite artist. So he was dancing to it. As a bday gift, the kind sales lady asked what his favorite piece was and played Smooth Criminal for him. He couldn't be more overjoyed and wanted Thriller next. However, he was more excited to go get his party started. Oh. One star off for difficult parking. However, we are rating the bakery, not it's location, so 5 stars all the way. Poor Lil guy now can enjoy the yummy most soft delicious blueberry muffin and chocolate scones and every bday because of Ms. Erin! We are indebted. Thanks for making his (5th) day with such delicious 9 in cake!!!!!!! Now, if only ingredients can go organic😁!

Let say everything else was great except the cake itself. I’m not a vegan myself so not sure if my tastebud is different though, but definitely I’ve had far much better vegan cake and bakery that are so yummy that you don’t even noticed it’s vegan, this place is nothing close to that, you 100% will at least notice it’s not made from milk or real butter. I didn’t like the striking taste of soy (or something similar) in the cake sponge. It’s just felt like drinking sweetened soy milk out of the box. The cake sponge flavor was not smooth but more like striking sweet. I had to pause for 1hr to eat a piece that was 1/10 of the cake. Outside layer was coconut. It’s just too sweet and smelled too coconut. I don’t know if it’s real coconut or more flavor was added to it. Overall, the flavors jumped out too much and absolutely didn’t go together. The shop smells very nice so I expected a lot but it’s kind of disappointing, sorry!

This $10 strawberry shortcake did not have strawberries, no strawberry flavor icing, no strawberry jam!! It taste like cornbread! It’s dry and has zero flavor. The employee said they poke holes in it and insert jam, please tell me where you see holes and jam? Worse, they offer no refunds, if you talk to the assistant manager she will tell you to go out your way to drive back with the FULL CAKE to exchange. Seriously, in a time of COVID, you want me to take my partially eaten dry cake to your face? This is greed and capitalism at its finest. How dare you call this dry a$$ cake with no strawberry or strawberry flavor a strawberry shortcake!? I took a picture to show the cake with frosting removed, it’s dry and has zero “strawberry jam”. I broke the cake up to find if there was maybe something on the inside, which is why it’s all broken up. Nastiest cake I ever had! Never patronizing again.

I love supporting vegan & GF businesses which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2, but I have to be honest in my feedback because I’d hate for a non-vegan to try these baked goods and then presume “all” vegan/GF places are of this quality.

The carrot cake cupcake was aesthetically-pleasing (w a cute carrot design on the top) but it was fairly dry & crumbly (which I know can be a tendency of gluten-free items – but if I can make an extremely moist cake at all times that is gluten-free then I’m pretty sure a bakery should be capable of achieving this). It also didn’t consist of much shredded carrot at ALL nor spices or other ingredients you would expect in a carrot cake (eg raisins or walnuts). It was akin to eating a dense vanilla cupcake, with little bits of carrot embedded.

The Tiramisu was tasty (well, 7.5/10 tastewise) but it was essentially a denser sponge cake with a cream-like icing that was “not” reminiscent of the light mascarpone cream you should expect. It had the expected appearance of a Tiramisu, and the icing was dusted w coffee powder, but if the cake part of the tiramisu was coffee-soaked at all (as it ought to be) you really couldn’t tell; it tasted more like a plain vanilla cake. 😐

The maple doughnut was tasty and fairly fluffy, but people who haven’t had a vegan GF doughnut need to be aware it is basically a cake in a doughnut shape.

I’d understand this level of quality if these cakes were half the price, but given the small square of Tiramisu was ~$12.00, cupcake was almost $7, the doughnut was $5 …this was definitely not worth it.

If you’re looking for a better vegan/GF bakery I would definitely recommend visiting Toluca Bakery out in the Valley! They are a no-frills, fully vegan bakery that have sooo many GF options and for a lesser price than Erin McKenna’s which at this point seems to be all about the name than the legitimate quality of the items. Just my very honest, opinionated...

I had a terrible experience with this place. They charged me $85 over the phone because they only had one chocolate cake left and I was on my way to my brother's B-day party. I asked them to write a Happy B-Day and they messed up the writing and once I got there they lied that we thought you pre-order the cake for tomorrow. They didn't bother to call we don't have a professional person writing it, so is it okay to do it or not? I would say please don't. Then, the oil got through the pink box and it was so embarrassing to give it to my brother. His name: Max was spelled so messy. The worse of it all was dealing with the bakery afterwords. I took the cake back to the store and they refuse to provide refunds as they said the manager is gone for the day. It's best for me to take a picture and email them. I did that and it took 7 days to get back to me and that's after I called several times to the store following up and saying I never got a response to my email. Finally, one of the managers got back to me very short, rude saying all sales are finals and this was a complementary service. Not taking responsibility for their staff messing up and apologizing that they ruined the moment for me to celebrate my brother's birthday. I would never shop there ever again. They are all about money, Terrible service and staff are not professional and can't get a manager to call me or email me back. I never suggest this place and I would never shop there again. I would have not written the review if they at least tried to call me right a way, or offer a replacement or try to take responsibility. The worse customer...

Worst customer service. I placed an order two days prior for a vegan and gluten free pumpkin pie for a Friendsgiving, when I arrived they had it sealed and packed for me. Later when I pull out the dessert, they gave me the wrong pie and I got an apple crisp instead. Completely wrong pie and my girl friend couldn’t Even eat it due to an allergy. Really disappointed. It was too late to call as they were closed so I called the first thing the next morning.

Linda the manager first tried to reprimand me as to why I didn’t call sooner and didn’t offer any sort of apology or seemed concerned at all and finally offered me a $45 gift card to come back. I asked for a refund as they gave me the completely wrong order and said I shouldn’t have to pay for a pie I didn’t want and she said that Erin McKenna herself told her she could only offer me a gift card to come back. And that’s completely un acceptable.

I refuse to give them any more business after how rude and careless they were. And it really makes me wonder what precautions they take against COVID-19 and what sanitary conditions they operate under if they don’t Even care to check the orders or rectify a situation where they were in the wrong. The least they could do is take ownership and not throw the fault back on me. I will never shop here again. And to top it off the apple pie was dry, over cooked and...
