Footsies — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I was assaulted last night (May 30 2014 at 1:57am) at this place BY the "bouncer\security" for trying to finish my water...according to him I Was trespassing !!! When the police arrived the employees at this place took his side and apparently according to them "I hit him first" yet he's the one who layed his hands on me! He's the one that reached and forcefully tried to take the plastic cup of water (yes it was water!) out of my hand while I was attempting to take a drink. And supposeably the cameras were not "working". I will spread the word about this and I will further be in contact with authorities this is absolutely unacceptable ..its not ok for the security to repeatedly hit me over the head over a damn cup of water (especially when he's the one that told me I could not take the...

Had a blast at this East LA bar a few weekends back. Visiting my hometown from NYC, it was interesting to see how much the old East LA I grew up knowing decades ago continues to change. While the area is without a doubt becoming gentrified, Footsies felt like a good balance of new locals and old, all with the same youthful party spirit.

The night I went was a cumbia music theme and the DJ played that regional music the whole night which I realized can get a bit redundant in its simplicity. The dance floor was still going off as we all vibed, drink in hand in merriment. Took a break to the spacious patio in the back but quickly realized why my smoking days are behind me. Cool dive bar with bar stools + lots of cozy booths. Big dance floor with the classic mirror ball glittering above it to sparkle up the atmosphere. Nice, big heated garden patio that also functions as a smoking area with seating all around perimeter. Places is almost always jumping, even on quieter nights like Monday. Live DJ most nights keeps the variety of music styles thumping. Not the biggest beer selection but certainly enough to make everyone happy. Big selection of trendy liquor brands. Nice, efficient bartenders take care of your beverage needs. No need to dress up.
