I tried For The Win this past Sunday. Some people I know were talking about trying it (and a billboard nearby proclaiming that they were voted the Best Cheeseburger in Los Angeles) made me consider trying this restaurant. It's a bit small but the restaurant was definitely getting alot of patronage. As I was deciding what to try, several of the patrons there informed me that the burgers and the fries, no matter what I want with, were amazingly good. That was definitely a good sign in my book. The options on how I wanted my hamburger were definitely a plus. I just went with a plain hamburger with pickles and lettuce and a soda. Overall, the atmosphere and service (and some extremely friendly patrons) definitely upped the positive experience here. The hamburger was definitely good, although the price was a bit more than I would have liked. But for a gourmet smash hamburger 🍔, it was worth it. I regret not getting the fries (the patrons really recommended those) because what's a hamburger without fries!!!. Overall it was definitely worth going there. The service and people there definitely are conducive for an amazingly friendly and relaxing atmosphere that I haven't seen in a long time in a restaurant. The food is definitely good. A bit on the spendy side but one can chalk that up to it being related to it being gourmet. Definitely worth going again. Next time I'm going to have to get the fries and try their sweet potato...
Read moreI stopped by this burger place this morning to get lunch. I been to For The Win in Glendale before so l already knew what to expect. I arrived earlier than when this store open because I know the plaza this place is in, has limited parking spots. So when I came, the plaza was not busy at all so I got to pick a parking spot if my choosing. When they officially open, I walked inside and place my order. I got the cheeseburger single patty with no onion or pickles with fries and a chocolate shake. I also got double cheeseburger and added bacon to it. While the man working the grill was preparing my food, I just took a seat at one of the table inside and waited. I was their first customer of the day and the only customer when I was there. It took about 10 minutes for my burgers to be ready and I left to eat it at home. The chocolate shake was delicious and I usually don't order that. I ate the bacon double cheeseburger first and man was it heavy. I could barely finish it because it's a lot of grease and there was no lettuces or tomatoes in the burger. The fries where crispy, seasoned well and great. I was so full after eating the double cheeseburger with bacon that I couldn't even eat the regular cheeseburger so I gave it to my mom. She liked how the...
Read moreThis is a hole in the wall burger joint. It is in a strip mall with limited free parking (there are several other businesses and restaurants in the small strip mall sharing the parking lot).
The burger I ordered was a double with cheese and the pictured burger is very misleading. It looks plump and juicy with bacon, lettuce, tomato and sauce. See picture of what I got. Other than the cheese, everything else was extra (bacon, lettuce, tomatos,). Now with that said the burger tasted fine (I like plainish burgers, meat, cheese, bread, and maybe some sauce), but for the $$ it tasted about the same as a double double, but more expensive, more burnt, and more smashed. I love a good shoe string fry and these were excellent (by the way, fries are extra too) My buddy got a single patty and it was very thin. I mean these are smash burgers, sooo. I still think Denny's has the best burgers. 16.99$ for a triple with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, sauce, bacon AND fries and the meat is fresh and patties are big.
Soda, burger and fries are 20$ a bit steep for what you actually get at this place. And I didn't like that they smashed the buns.
Try it if you like, but is it great, no! Is it ok, yes. Would I try again,...
