Great White — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We had a really great experience at Great White in Brentwood. We turned up without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The host was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which set the tone for the rest of the meal.

Service throughout was excellent — relaxed, efficient, and personal without ever feeling overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made a few recommendations that really paid off. It’s clear the staff care about both the food and the customer experience, which made the whole evening feel effortless and enjoyable.

I ordered the black cod, which came with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, and a side of black rice. The cod was perfectly cooked — tender, flaky, and full of flavor. The mushrooms and spinach were rich and earthy, and the black rice was a great contrast in texture and taste. Everything felt thoughtfully put together and well-balanced. My friend had the smoked salmon pizza with a side salad, which was also excellent — the crust was light and crisp, the toppings fresh, and nothing felt overly heavy or greasy.

For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse. It was smooth, rich, and deeply chocolatey without being too sweet — a great way to finish the meal.

The atmosphere is stylish but laid-back, making it a great place for a casual dinner that still feels special. It’s not trying too hard, which makes it all the more enjoyable. We never felt rushed, and even though it got busier as the night went on, the service stayed consistent.

Overall, Great White Brentwood really delivered — great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It’s rare to find a place that hits all three, but this one does. Will...

I don't know where to start. I made a reservation and in my notes added I have a small service dog. Upon arriving I had to reassure the hostess, I carry her tags and paperwork with me. Upon being seated right before we were going to order another wait staff (not a manager) approaches very rudely to inform me no dogs are allowed I proceeded to tell her AGAIN - so this is 3x once in the reservations an twice in person and offer to show her proof the table.Also note I have been other Great White locations w my service dog. We were so turned off that we got up and literally walked across the street to another neighborhood and welcoming restaurant. It was borderline harassment on the staff. You may not see my disability but trust theres a reason I have a service dog with their paperwork with me at all times. So basically discriminating. This restaurant needs to adapt to t's neighborhood and not be so snotty. You are among many other GREAT restaurants, where me, my SERVICE dog and my money...

The chicken kabab had little to no seasoning and relies heavily on the lemon slice for flavor. It also was a rather gross cut of meat that was heavy in cartilage and needed to be spit out a couple of times. After the server attempted to take our food orders and we asked for more time, it then took them 20-30min to come back around for appetizer orders. Not to mention the 25min after they cleared the plates, they then swing back around asking if we wanted dessert, to which already said we did when we ordered the mains. We asked questions about the dessert and alluded to wanted to order the pudding. That was probably the only good thing there. It’s over hyped and just flat out not good.

P.S. I am almost certain they add water to the soap instead of using new ones. It was wayyyyy to watery and the strength of the spray on the pump was soapy water and didn’t have any thickness to it. Which is gross when the people working there are probably not washing their hands with actual soap and just...
