The pics online are misleading. My daughter called it, the bait n switch motel. I read some of the reviews & wondered where these ppl stayed!? 🤔We were in room 17, maybe other rooms were better?
Def. a low budget motel. The best aspect, was the customer service, until we were checking out & the maid LITERALLY waited outside our door (w/attitude) 10 min. for us to leave. Before that, we were so grateful how fast they got us linens & toiletries & how nice they were. The security guard was awesome & helped us navigate the horrendous parking lot. One night we had 4 cars parked behind us & couldn't get out.
The bathroom was difficult getting in n out, very cramped. The floor in the tiny bathroom was sticky. There was also black mold on the ceiling & a q tip on the floor.
After the kids ran around the room, their feet were black, so it's def. carpet cleaning time.
The fridge was a good size. You can fit a LOT in the freezer. They NEED night stands in the bedroom & there was only 1 working outlet in the room, to charge our phones.
It's not a true 3bdrm, but gave us the space we needed. No door on the teeny tiny side bedroom or front room. The window curtains were also not easy to open & one of the curtains in the front room kept falling down, when we opened it.
We suggest you seek another place to stay. We found a few good priced properties, afterwards. We'll probably stay at Ocean...
Read moreI've stayed at this hotel twice, once as a teenager with family and once as a single adult. Liked it both times. It's a tiny time capsule surrounded by a big city that has passed it by. What follows pertains to my more recent visit.
The rooms are affordable by L.A. standards, and the location was perfect for me. I had an appointment at the Austrian consulate down the street, which I could easily walk to. The hotel parking lot is tight, but there was enough room for my compact car. There was also a security guard on duty at all hours, which made me feel better about parking there.
The room I had booked ended up having a plumbing problem, so the hotel management upgraded me to a two bedroom suite free of charge. Very nice of them! The rooms were a little dilapidated but clean, and they had everything I needed. Traffic noise was minimal and I slept well.
The one place this motel falls down is amenities. There really aren't any. Not even a coffee machine or ice maker. There was a continental breakfast when I first visited, but not anymore due to COVID. Might be safe to start providing food again, no?
WiFi was unusable from my first room, but adequate from my second. Distance from router makes a...
Read moreThey should rename this Dragon Lady Motel. I called in around 6:40, a gentleman answered and quoted $90 for my 1 night stay. He took my cc and gave a reservation number. I got there at 7:20. As soon as I went in the office a lady told me: "we have a problem". She proceeded to explain her husband made a mistake and the room is not available. She credited my card and had me sign both slips. I asked if they are completely booked, she said they have a room for $130 and I'm welcome to pay that if I want it. Even after saying that I was tired and they already took my money, she would not budge. She rather leave me with no place to stay and her available room empty.
A friend of mine went to that place thinking that's where I was. The lady at the hotel said it was all a misunderstanding and that they will give me the room at the same price. Not only its a little late (it took me over an hour to find another place), but also it certainly didn't sound like a misunderstanding. This woman literally screamed at me telling me what do I care, I only made my reservation 5 minutes ago.
Even if they offer me a free night I wouldn't go simply because this is something you simply don't do in the...
