A fantastic restaurant I had the opportunity to eat at twice during my time in Pacific Palisades. On my first visit I had the double cheeseburger which was delicious with a bit of zest from the special Hank sauce. I found the burger to be a bit on the smaller side of what I expected and a bit greasier than I'd prefer, but delicious nonetheless. On my second visit I tried a grilled chicken sandwich with mashed sweet potatoes and finished off with a root beer float. The grilled chicken lacked in flavor so I added a bit of pepper. Overall food was a solid 8/10 but service was no less than a 10/10 - wait staff was attentive and quick on both visits. The restaurant is also just in a really cool spot so gets a 10/10 for environment as well. My one negative comment would be about the heaters on the patio - during my second visit it smelled overwhelming of propane, so much so that a mall manager came over with security to check if there was a propane leak. Also, I know California has banned plastic straws, but have you ever tried to drink a root beer float out of a biodegradable paper straw that disintegrates almost immediately? Not and easy task.

Chef Pena and his team run a tight ship and serves above average food topped off with excellent customer service. On my most recent visit I had the double diamond burger with fries. While I found the fries to be a bit undercooked they weren’t terrible. Upon finding out, the chef was kind enough to give me an order of onion rings to compensate. There is plenty of outdoor seating available with heat lamps so even on a colder night it is pretty comfortable. As is the case when visiting the Palisades, parking can be a pain but the restaurant does offer parking validation so no need to drive around looking for precious street parking.

I've visited Hank's a few times and would lean towards giving it a 4-star rating rather than 3, mainly due to the service aspect, which unfortunately hasn't been great. Our latest visit reaffirmed this with slow service, errors in our order, and having to request our check multiple times. On the positive side, the food is decent and fresh. I enjoyed their Greek salad, which, despite being a bit pricey, was well-prepared. My child is a fan of their burger, the Hank’s Smashed. The terrace is another highlight, boasting a nice, south-facing orientation that offers ample light and sunshine, perfect for lunch.

On January 1, Saturday, I had gone shopping at the mall, and while I was getting ready to leave, my car would not start. I had to wait for the tow truck, so I decided to grab something to eat at your restaurant. I went and ordered fries and a drink to go. After realizing that the tow truck was going to take longer than anticipated, I decided to return to your restaurant to eat a more complete meal. This is when the issue started: There were 6 empty tables on the patio. The indoor dining was full, and with Covid, I felt safer eating outside. As it was a very cold night, the only really warm table was a table for four, near the fire pit, near the window with a working heater. Many of the heaters were not functioning. So, I sat down, and the waitress/hostess (she was the only woman working that night) abruptly told me that I could not sit there because it was a table for four. However, the only table for two that was open, the heater was not working. LET ME REMIND YOU THERE WERE 6 EMPTY TABLES! ALL EXCEPT FOR ONE TABLE WERE FOR FOUR PEOPLE. When I asked the waitress if I could speak to the manager, she said that I could sit at the table for four, but if more people came, I would have to move. I wasn't planning on sitting there for a long time, just enough time to eat because I was waiting for the tow truck.

The reason that I am writing this review is because I feel that I was not treated fairly. I understand that servers need tips for their livelihood, and I was once a server myself in college. However, this was a very dehumanizing way to treat a customer who maybe would have come back another time with four or more people and who would have...

Excellent food and service! From the moment I walked up to the outdoor host podium, to the staff that cleaned my table before I even left, it was an all around class act. The male host who first greeted me was very friendly and gave me a warm genuine smile and made great eye contact. He was a young man, probably no older than 21, that was very sharp and attentive. He even noticed when I first was seated and returned to my table having asked to use their restroom, the waiter (whom I'd not met yet) had removed my menu. He immediately said, "Let me get you another menu. The waiter must've taken yours by mistake." He later needed to borrow one of the extra unused chairs at my table, and very politely asked if he may use it for another table. I told him what great manners he has and how impressed I was with him. (I apologize that I don't recall the young man's name.) He was dark skinned with dark hair and eyes. I also noted that all the staff were men. Not one female worked there. It was my first time there (Sunday, July 21, 2019, @3pmish), so I'm not aware if that is their theme or policy to hire only men. It's not a bad thing, just different from the normal. They were all dressed impeccably, so I'm not complaining! My waiter was great, too! I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Salad on Kale with Caesar dressing. It was amazing! It was on the pricey side, but worth every penny. I most definitely...

We recently dined at Hank's in Pacific Palisades and were thoroughly impressed with our experience. On a sunny warm day, we opted to sit outside under an umbrella with shade, enjoying the pleasant weather and atmosphere.

Our meal began with their very special onion rings, which we split and was paired with a flavorful aioli—definitely a must-try! Next, two of us indulged in the shrimp cocktail, featuring huge, flavorful Gulf shrimp and a classic cocktail sauce that perfectly complemented the dish.

One of our party also thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp Louis salad, which was absolutely fabulous. The large, juicy Gulf shrimp were paired with ripe, creamy avocado, small, flavorful tomatoes, and crisp romaine lettuce. The freshness of each ingredient truly stood out.

To drink, we had the refreshing Arnold Piper iced tea, a glass of wine, a beer and then finished with a classic chocolate milkshake—a delightful way to round out the meal.

What made the experience even more memorable was the excellent customer service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went far above and beyond to ensure we had a great time.

We’ll definitely be returning to Hank’s to explore more of their outstanding menu. Highly...
