House of Galbi on Ventura Boulevard is one of the most enjoyable all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ experiences I’ve had in the Valley. The restaurant offers several levels to choose from: the weekend lunch buffet at $32.99, an upgrade to the dinner menu at $48.99, and a premium option at $69.99 that opens up even more selections. I decided to upgrade, and it was well worth it. The variety of meats and seafood was impressive, and I liked being able to cook everything myself right at the table. The marinated beef grilled up tender and flavorful, while the grilled salmon was fresh, tasty, and a nice surprise on an AYCE menu.
The service was another highlight. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and fast, always making sure we had plenty of meat, sauces, and side dishes without having to wait. The flow of food came at a comfortable pace, and it never felt rushed or disorganized. Banchan and sides were plentiful, adding balance to the heavier BBQ items, and the staff checked in often to see if we needed anything else.
Another big plus is the parking situation. The restaurant has a large lot right off Ventura Boulevard that can easily fit around 50 to 70 cars, so parking is never an issue — something you don’t take for granted in this part of L.A. Between the food, the service, and the ease of access, the whole experience felt smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
Overall, House of Galbi delivers exactly what you want from an AYCE Korean BBQ spot: generous portions, fresh selections, flavorful marinades, and a relaxed environment where you can enjoy cooking at your own pace. It’s a great choice for both small groups and larger gatherings, and I’ll definitely be...
Read moreThe place looks nice. They have good food. BUT they would literally chase after you to leave a bigger tip. The one that followed me said “We noticed you didn’t tip us enough. Look everyone is just making a living.”
I was shocked. I was with my friend that I haven’t met in a long time. She brought in another person with her too. They told me this place was good, but I’m not coming back. I should’ve read the reviews for them. How disappointing.
So for anyone that’s asking if we did give them anything, we did. We left a decent tip. Since it was already night time and everybody was tired, (I was mostly irritated) I grabbed my wallet. Got out a twenty dollar bill and slapped it on the receipt he was showing us. I didn’t have time to complain to their manager, nor did I wanna stay longer in the vicinity of this restaurant.
Anyone who reads this, avoid this place. I already told most of my friends and family members about this place. They’re staying away.
It’s not mandatory to leave a tip. It’s a courtesy and recognition that as a customer you felt they went above and beyond for you, and that your overall experience was good or better. I was in their position once, but never would I chase after a customer to demand for a bigger tip. The customer chooses how much he values the experience, not how the waiters/waitresses perceive it should be. Even if someone didn’t leave a tip, you don’t just run after him, that’s so...
Read moreFirst time at this place and I gotta say it's not like what most reviews said. I went during post Covid when things just started to open up. I went with my friends which is a party of 4. We got all you can eat since we were starving. Let's start with negative... the price is pretty high compared to most places with the same quality of meat. At almost $40(including tax) per person. They put a 18% tips surcharge with a party of 4 and above. This is actually the first place that I know of that does this. Most restaurants would do this on a party of 5 or 6 and above. So this is a bit extreme. They did last call pretty early and I don't think it should be that way since we need sometime to finish each round. Or don't accept any customer at all before an hour of closing time. It's like they still want $$ but don't want to give enough time for us to finish and fulfill our hunger. Positive... The kalbi was delicious and so tender. That's a big 👍 The service is above and beyond. Extreme fast but somewhat accurate, which is understandable since it's all you can eat. The restaurant is clean and up to date. The grill on our table has a vacuum built in so we won't go home smelling like bbq. Bottom line.. will I go back?🤔 A: probably not until they address the issues and make it more budget friendly. P.S. I'm a server and a foodie 😋 I have a ton of experience with...
