Naab Mediterranean — Restaurant in Los Angeles

NAAB MEDITERRANEN, part of a small chain, provides an authentic Mediterranean menu. Mateo, the cook, and Alan, the host, are knowledgeable and friendly.

The environment is small and clean. A wall mounted menu is clearly annotated with dietary information. I ordered the vegan lentil soup and vegetable kebab.

The lentil soup is full-bodied and satisfying, but a bit on the salty side. Take this observation with a grain of salt as I'm on a low sodium diet.

The vegan, fire roasted vegetable kebab is prepared with saffron, fresh bright herbs, and vegetables. The kabob, constructed on an oversized skewer, (reminiscent of the swords of Turkish soldiers) is stuffed with a generous supply of tomatoes, peppers, onions, and zucchini, and served on a bed of yellow saffron brown rice. Sides include silky smooth hummus, crisp tossed salad, tahini, and warmed, pie-cut pita.

After spending some time on the flame broiler, the still crisp and browned veggies are slid from their stainless steel rod, then piled high on a bed of saffron rice. It's enough for two. This marvelously flavorful meal is quite filling.

My partner ordered the marinated chicken kebab. The same large kebab with large chunks of marinated chicken, complementing chunks of tomato, onion, and pepper. This fire roasted kebab is deposited on saffron flavored brown rice. Served with tahiti, crisp salad, hummus, and pita. Again, the serving was large enough for two meals.

Found this place by chance while looking for an outdoor dining option while my dogs were with me. Very surprising find - a small resto with it's own parking area; clean; plenty of tables; welcoming staff; easy menu; and an outdoor area - wasn't expecting much. The kind gentleman brought out cold water for my dogs, it was a hot day. Then, the food came, and I was blown away by the size of the portion and how delicious it was! The meats were tender and juicy; the basmati rice was just right; and the hummus was very fresh! And the service was definitely stellar. We will be sure to come back to Naab and hope to enjoy the experience once again!...

I recently visited Naab Mediterranean, and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely exceeded my expectations.

Not only was the food excellent, but the service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my meal.
