The space was small but very nicely done, sleek. For the price I did expect better service but at least the flavors were all great. All four of us enjoyed our meals, expect $32 sushi for one but spending more to leave full. They forgot something that I ordered, and also forgot part of the bento box meal for my husband.

Good sushi but okay service. Great food but slightly let down by the lack of attention to detail across the service. Empty drinks, no chop sticks, no garnishes, no soy dish, etc.

This place took me by surprise, it is absolutely delicious. I would go here often if I lived near.

My wife and I were excited to see this place, especially that it seemingly opened during the pandemic / quarantine. However, we were severely disappointed by this place. We paid about $40 for 4 veggie sushi rolls that were very small (4 small pieces each when cut up) and didn't have much flavor. There wasn't much culinary value added in terms of marinating the vegetables, using fermented veggies/roots and/or interesting sauces. Worse, we ordered the pickled veggies side and it was basically some chopped up cheap veggies that had seemingly been soaked in salted water for a few days - definitely not lacto-fermented or even really pickled. The red pepper slices that came with the pickled veggies side were essentially raw!! And this side cost $8.00. Such a rip off. All in all, this place is the epitome of a shotty gentrifying new business - waaay too expensive given the working class composition of the neighborhood, and not much value for the money spent. The one positive: very nice outdoor seating area outback. I feel bad for this negative review, but people...

I decided to get some food here after seeing it featured a few times on Instagram. It looked good from what I saw so I placed an order online for pickup for dinner wtih my family.

I ordered the sushi box for two, sushi box for one, the deluxe sashimi, salmon roe nigiri, Wagyu nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, baked crab roll, and a lobster roll. Both the look and taste were great. Nothing tasted "fishy", and everything was good.

One of my complaints is that I wish there was a box set that had only nigiri sushi as I'm not a fan of rolls (depending on the size of the box you get you get a spicy tuna roll and california roll), and with a few more pieces of nigiri sushi as well.

The other complaint is I order so much food, obviously it wasn't for just two people, but what was given in the bag was just condiments (ginger/wasabi) for just two people, along with just 2 pairs of chopsticks.

Otherwise, for the price it's not...

Decided to check this place out after hearing a few positive reviews and am super glad I did! My wife and I split the Sushi box for two and added a few of the vegan rolls to try out. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Prices could be considered medium to high for a neighborhood sushi place, but for the quality of product we received I think it was very fairly priced.

It’s important to know that this isn’t the kind of place where you’re going to get insane rolls with a lot of extraneous toppings. I think of that as novelty sushi, and honestly sometimes I love it. But usually with sushi I am looking for simpler things executed very well. That’s the focus at Ichijiku. If you don’t care about that too much then you may feel the prices here are too high. But for people that do appreciate it, this is a great addition to the...
