I’ve been to Irv’s multiple times as a local resident, and from morning to evening they are a reliable burger joint. Their food is actually fast, consistent in quality, and looks just like the pictures (if not better).
Today I went to Irv’s in the morning right after opening time for a double cheeseburger and the team there had a cool energy. It was nice not having to feel too bad for going so early as I’m a student going through exams right now. At other joints you can have awkward moments when going in early (looks like, “why are you here so early dammit??”) but not at Irv’s.
The double cheeseburger itself is like the hotdogs, the fries, and their milkshakes: high in quality and consistent across multiple trips. Really, Irv’s has the art of fast food down.
Is it greasy? Not for me, but maybe for you. For me each food option is exactly what it should be. I don’t go to a joint like Irv’s for the tall, dry gourmet burger with the steak-sized patty and heirloom tomatoes drizzled with truffle oils. I go for the fast and easy, the delicious and nostalgic, and that house sauce on a crackling-char thin patty. If you are looking for good “smashburgers,” Irv’s has them, and more.
Good vibes, great food, and always reliable. What more can a man want in a corner burger joint? Thank you to this Irv’s and the staff...

The retro vibes really add to the charm—walking in feels like stepping back in time to a simpler, more nostalgic era.
The burgers themselves? Pure perfection. They’re cooked to order with that signature crispy edge, juicy in the middle, and packed with flavor in every bite. It's the kind of burger you just can't replicate anywhere else. The smell of fresh beef grilling and the sound of sizzling patties really take you back to the golden days of American diners.
What really sets this place apart is how they've kept things classic, sticking to what they do best. The atmosphere matches the food perfectly: cozy, inviting, and with a hint of old-school charm. Every bite felt like a trip down memory lane.
If you're in the area and want a taste of history mixed with great flavors, I’d highly recommend stopping by. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience you’ll...
Read moreI think I've found my favorite burger. All of my friends have been raving about Irv's Burgers that just opened in my neighborhood (LaBrea and Olympic). There's also a West Hollywood location, and was known for being on the historic Route 66. Irv's has been around for over 76 years, and they keep it simple with their menu. The burger patties are cooked on the spot, with just the right amount of caramelization, the cheese is the right amount of melted goodness, the grilled onions are sweet and yummy and the bun is toasted...this makes for a great burger. Oh, and the fries are also cooked just right. But here's the biggie...these burgers are affordable and better than most of the $20 + burgers and fries at these big name establishments. This is the closest thing I've found so far to old fashion homemade burgers in LA in the last 15 or so years. Plus, you can have them delivered, though I walked there to get mine. Irv's will remind you of a cool retro burger joint with indoor and outdoor seating...that had me when I...
