very disappointed in this location. I’ve been coming here for the last year and this specific dine in was terrible of all the other times. (11/27/2023) we arrived at the restaurant around 4:00pm we mentioned to our previous server that we were expecting a friend. Our original server was fantastic and had to leave so we closed out our first tab. He mentioned having another server overlook us and I noticed the only workers that were at the restaurant were the ones that were standing around talking and not doing their jobs. It took them about half an hour before they asked if we were both okay. I wanted to order a flan so I opened a new tab for the dessert, it took the server about 15 more minutes to prep and deliver a flan(weird) and I had also asked for change for a $20.00 the guy server gave me two $10.00 (which was fine). As I’m waiting to close out my tab he continued talking to the bartender. I left $14.50 on the table to close out my tab and we left to our car (that was parked right outside the entrance door) the server came running out and said “aren’t you going to pay for your flan” in such a rude tone, i told him the money is on the table and we were planning on coming back inside when our friend arrives. Finally, after 25 minutes our whole party arrived and we sat by the bar. The girl bartender was nice at first but became rude towards the middle of our dine in. She kept mentioning how we can’t drink from the pitcher. My friend was being funny and wanted to photograph a photo of him drinking from the pitcher. Then, as we were preparing to close out our tab, my friend mentioned working at kalaveras (he worked at a few locations) he was expecting a discount and management denied. I was expecting the service and atmosphere to be good but this felt hostile. And not to mention their manager (guy with glasses and short hair) kept leaving the restaurant talking on the phone carrying some iPad or whatever he had in his hand, ignoring guests and ignoring his job. Read moreI always frequent the Pasadena Kalaveras for Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour. Today I wanted to try the Silver Lake location. We were seated immediately. Fernando took our order just as quickly. He is an AMAZING waiter and should be commended for his excellent service. When i let him know that the double margaritas we ordered weren't doubles, he immediately let the manager know. Vicky the Manager was extremely rude and argumentative when I let her know that the Double Margaritas we ordered were NOT doubles, Vicky tried to tell me that it was because happy hour tequila is different. Now I'm a bartender and no matter what tequila you use for drinks, whether it's house tequila or premium tequila a Double is a Double. Unless your watering down your tequila for Happy Hour. Vicky instead of trying to fix the problem was dead-set on making me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. Vicky spoke over me and didn't let me finish a sentence. Horrible customer service on her behalf and when the bartender remade our drinks (which were definitely doubles) Vicky NEVER checked on us to see if we were satisfied. She walked by us on 9 different occasions and NEVER delivered our drinks, instead had someone else deliver our remade drinks. Vicky is definitely not ready to be a manager and should NÒT be a manager until she undergoes some extensive customer relations and Management training. This experience has made me not want to return to this location. Read moreVisited this location over the weekend and will never be visiting again. We made reservations for 12:30, upon arrival they had no onsite parking other than valet but they were not able to accommodate our vehicle so we parked a few streets away. We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before and let them know of our arrival and were told it would be a 5 minute wait which was fine. By the time we were actually seated it was 12:50, so didn't see the point of having a reservations if they were giving priority to walk-ins. We did the brunch buffet, which was very sloppy. Food was so bland and cold, unless you were getting omelets, tacos or chilaquiles since those were made to order. Mimosas are more juice than anything, its premade so its pretty flat. Our waitress seemed nice but I did not find okay that she was going to give everyone at our table mimosas, which mind you we had 2 teenagers with us. I denied one refill of mimosa and was never refilled again. I had to switch my glass with my partner in order for them to refill it.
Overall this locations has good vibes but is way overhyped and to small. They need to have a better system for how they control their reservations and walk-ins. Overpriced for...
