I ordered $60 of food from this restaurant through grub hub (a delivery app) which estimated the delivery between 7:10-7:20pm. I called the restaurant at 7:30pm to inquire get an eta since it was obviously not on time.
The person confirmed my address and that the food was with the delivery driver and would be arriving soon. I called back at 7:50 to check the status and I was concerned the food was getting cold and the ice cream was melting. The same guy answered the phone and told me that the delivery driver brought the food back to the restaurant because I told him I would pick up the food....I was baffled.
Of course this was a lie and I pointed out that I ordered the food on a delivery app because I could not pick the food up. The guy kept insisting that when I called to check on the status of the late order; I said I would pick it up so he had his delivery guy bring the food back. I went through the illogicality of the situation: why would I come pick up an order that was on the way to me? Why would I pay the grub hub delivery charge if I wanted to pick up the food? Logic eluded him as he continued to blame the customer for his late delivery and bad service.
The guy insisted on his lie but said he would deliver the food. At this point everyone here is starving and shocked that the restaurant employee would play these games. If he did not want our business then he could have said so when I called to check on the late order the first time or just take his business off grub hub if he cannot coordinate deliveries.
I called grub hub customer service to make a complaint and they were helpful but the restaurant cancelled the order while I was on the phone with customer service. Ordering from this restaurant was a huge...
Read moreOne of my favorite restaurants in all LA. We've been ordering for years. We've only had the vegetarian options. Sag paneer, any of the korma's, any of the curries, the matar paneer, aloo gobi, all favorites. And you learn what it all means as you go. Sag = spinach. Paneer = cheese. Korma = almond cream sauce, I think. Aloo = potato, Gobi = cauliflower, so on and so forth. There's English translations and pictures to help but we didn't know that at first. We would simply order the House Veggie Combo for Two and select dishes at random. It was all scrumptious. Now we know what we're doing and what our favorites are. The Combo for Two is enough for four people or two people for multiple meals. Not kidding. The portions are generous. But get an extra naan. Its enough food that you'll always need more naan. And its REAL naan, not the weird dense cake you get from Vons. Also, the rice pudding is good. Reminds me of...
Read moreI ordered via Uber Eats, and shame on this restaurant for their blatant bait-and-switch tactics on their bundles! This is the second time I’ve ordered a bundle from them, and both times they’ve pulled this stunt. The first time, I didn’t add any notes, and they conveniently left out the Coca-Cola that was supposed to be included. I let it slide, but this time I specifically added a note to not forget the Coca-Cola in the $19.99 bundle. What do they do? They sneakily adjust the price and charged an extra $2.99 + tax for something that was already supposed to be included in the bundle! This is nothing but shady business and pure exploitation of online platforms. I hate when restaurants try to take advantage of customers like this. Absolutely disgraceful.
