Yum Burger - 5🌟! 3 Piece Regular Fried Chicken - 5🌟! Crispy Fries + Gravy - 5🌟!
I rarely review fast food places but I wanted to send a shout-out to Jollibee because I feel like they can get overshadowed in a city like Los Angeles which is a shame because they really do have top tier level fast food fried chicken.
I had the opportunity to travel in the Philippines a number of years ago and had a chance to try Jollibee in their home of origin. It was great. Back in LA, I was happy to learn that there is a large enough Filipino population that Jollibee felt confident in expanding here. There aren't a lot of locations and I've only been to this one on Beverly Blvd but if you are near one and love fried chicken, I'd recommend you give them a shot.
There are a few reasons I go to Jollibee 3-4 times a year. They are close enough and fast enough for me to get there during my lunch hour. Their fried chicken always tastes like it just came fresh out of the deep frier and they use an oil/fry mix that is crispy, juicy and tender. The spicy fried chicken is stellar and is one of my favorites! I love that they serve gravy with their fried chicken, something that reminds of Canada where brown gravy with chicken is popular. They have great fries that help soak up all that tasty gravy.
I always get the fried chicken with fries and gravy but I also like to mix it up and add in a burger. They have more options on their menu including rice and spaghetti which is a very popular item in the Philippines but I go here for the fried chicken.
This location has been remodeled and modernized recently. It has a small parking lot and the drive-thru can be a bit cramped. I still can't figure out after all my time on earth how to eat fried chicken and gravy without making a mess. If anyone has any tips, let me know! Also, bonus points for having the friendliest people in the whole world...
Read moreI got here 7 minutes before 10 am. I didn't know that they open at 10. I thought that they open earlier due to they serve breakfast. Anyway when I got to the window their was already someone at the drive thru window. She told me she can't take my order just as yet cause they're still closed. I asked her what time will they be open? She told me at 10 am. I asked if i just wait there by the window to place my order and she said yes. I noticed that they're fully staff and that they're all gathered waiting for 10 am. I can't believe that all the staff doesn't really move any finger until it's 10 am. Cause even though they're just there by the resiter already they didn't count and put the money in the register until 10 am. They didn't have anything ready for us to buy at that time. They have to cook first. I just think that this place has poor scheduling. They should have some of their cooks scheduled to prepare food at least 1 or 2 hrs prior and one person to open up the register and do other duties such as refilling the straws, napkins, and other condiments and have them work 8 hrs too if they don't want to pay them overtime instead of having all of them start at the same time. This will avoid customers waiting for their orders outside and avoid customers not having a space to park while they wait. This from experience of being a customer. I feel that management should hire people who's there to work that just for a pay check. The...
Read moreThe worst Jollibee experience I’ve ever had.
I ordered dine-in, but they packed everything as to-go without even asking — a small detail, but it clearly shows how careless this location is.
Then came the food: • The mashed potatoes were full of unpeeled potato skin and had an unpleasant, mushy texture. • The fried chicken smelled off — not fresh at all. • The “sandwiches” were literally just two pieces of bread with a thin piece of fried chicken thrown inside. No sauce, no care, no flavor.
But the worst part was the order disaster. I ordered a $62 dine-in combo: • 12-piece chicken bucket • 2 sandwich combos • 3 pineapple juices
What I received — after 30 minutes of waiting and only because I asked — was: • A 6-piece bucket • 1 pineapple juice • No sandwiches at all • And everything packed as takeout
The staff were polite when I brought it up, but how do you mess up more than half the order, and still think it’s okay? While I waited, I watched them bring out buckets of chicken to people who ordered after me. Their excuse was, “We just made the drumsticks.” That doesn’t explain why everyone else got theirs first.
This experience completely ruined my mood. I came hungry and excited, and left frustrated and disappointed.
Don’t waste your time or money here. You...
