Les Disaster , completely ruined my night . All day my daughter wanted chicken and waffles. This was my first time every going to Les Sisters . I called before , asking if they were busy . They said the restaurant was completely empty . I said great we’re on the way . On the way there , I’m hyping it up to my family . “ The place is empty , we will get served quickly, etc etc . We were all starving. When we arrive it’s empty , there’s only 2 gentlemen in front of us . Like I said it was our first time there , so I wasn’t familiar with the menu . The older lady that took out order was flustered and I felt when I asked a question she was annoyed . I respect my elders , so I apologized and told her it was my first time here . I order , pay my $77 , put a tip In the jar and go sit down. About 5 min later people start coming in table after table , 20 minutes after we sat down the place is completely packed. I tell my family how lucky we are we came early. We start to realize something’s wrong when we see people that came in after us start to get they’re food . I go up to the counter and ask if there is a problem. At this time the lady that took my order and the lady serving start talking back and forth to each other . At that point I new my order was not sent to the kitchen. I should’ve asked for a refund and just left . The lady asked for my order again . I asked her “ Am I skewed ? She said no I’ll put ur order in . I said just please send out a chicken and waffle first because my 11 year old was very hungry. She said yes . Now comes the hard part . I have to go back to my table , explain the mistake to my family, then deal with they’re questions and complaints . I try my best to cheer them up but it’s not working . Now in my head I’m hoping the food gets here fast . Let me add , I have a soft spot for the hospitality business, I’ve been in the food industry for over 25 years restaurants , hotel’s , and catering . I try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt . At this point every minute that passes is painful, every table that gets they’re food before us is a slap in the face . At this point my daughter is laying on the table and my wife is not saying a word and she’s fuming . It’s been about 25 minutes after my order was re taken . Whe my wife saw that every table was eating and even all the take out orders have left . She got up and left . I should of left as well . I stayed at the table hoping at least my daughter would get her food , because it was too late to try and go somewhere else at this point . Also I paid already I didn’t want to double my loses. About 20 minutes after my wife went to the car the first plate came . When my daughter saw it wasn’t her order of chicken and waffles she started to cry . All she wanted was her chicken and waffles. I told the lady to pack up the food . I bet she could feel the anger and frustration coming from mysef and daughter . Les Daughters completely and utterly dropped the ball with us , they were very very lucky that it wasn’t someone else that this happened to . If it happened to anyone else there would of been a big scene. Very and truly unprofessional on their part . No im sorry, no here have these biscuits while u wait . Nothing , just probably hoping we didn’t make a scene and hoping to sweep it under the rug . When we got home we couldn’t even eat the food , what a horrible experience. Completely ruined our Saturday...
Read moreI HATE THIS PLACE!!! BECAUSE........ It makes me want to go back home and have momz make food like THIS!!!! THIS PLACE IS FIRE 🔥. Food so on point. My mom is from the south and I'm talking deep dark racist south Alabama boy. Where the food better always taste good because it might be your last meal, hahaha.
Let me tell you every soul food place I have ever been to is terrible with a lack luster abomination of deplorable dishes. I was ready for this place to be par for the course and was half mad for my friends suggesting this place. Yo, did these ladies school me on FLAVOR!!! EVERYTHING POPPED. I got 4 separate apps so I could get a nice across the board test, and these ladies passed the test with flying colors. Seasoning and flavor and temp on point. My friends all agreed as well (all 8 of them). After taking about 2 bites of everything, my friend pointed out the chef to me, and I immediately jumped up and shook her hand and said, "Thank You". I'm a weirdo like that.
The ladies who work here are swèet and charming, I believe we were helped by the two owners. Listen, they are not your servers OK. You happened upon their establishment and they are happy to feed you in their house. Do not expect some fake ass smiles like you're at "Shenanigans" or some other fake smile factory. You come here for authentic food and authentic people. Don't come up in here expecting some sort of minstrel show. Sit your ass down, eat, and be respectful, and you will get LOVE back, not some fake ass smile. (I was a server for over 10 years, don't question me). The ONLY reason this place is not 5 stars is because of the Target store bright lighting in this place. Someone accidentally hit the lights while we were eating, and when they got half back on the place felt as warm and coozy as the food makes you feel. They just need a decor update/upgrade and better lighting. Other than that, I LOVED THIS PLACE. Take mom here this coming Mothers Day, she will thank you and be embarrassed at what she made you eat for 18 years of your life, hahaha. Tell them...
Read moreFamily and I came for great-nieces graduation from University of Northridge and had a taste for Soul Food, Googled and came across this spot. Parking was limited as the lot is shared with several other businesses. Entering the restaurant we were greeted immediately and the atmosphere was comfortable, nice music playing, clean, and bright as the setting is casual.
There was only one other customer on a Saturday afternoon which had me wondering “why”, but the family decided we would remain and give it a try and Les Sisters’ didn’t disappoint.
I ordered the cup of Gumbo. And why just the cup you may ask? After reading the ingredients and see as they included “fish” in their gumbo which was different from my families various recipes (cause some like to put their own personal touch or spin) I was a bit leery, but I really wanted Gumbo so I went for it. The Gumbo rue was delicious and we all know the rue must be on point. The sausages, shrimp and crab were delicious and plentiful. The fish (catfish) was surprisingly good, but I prefer Gumbo without fish.
I also had the Fried Wing Dinner (spicy) with Red Beans and Rice. DELICIOUS! The chicken was fried to perfection, juicy and crispy. Came piping hot and flavorful! On the Red Beans and Rice didn’t disappoint. Beans were tender and rice was fluffy.
Customer Service was great! Pat, or Mama Pat was a delight. We had a party of 12 and a baby and she along with her “side kick” (forgot her name) was on point. Orders were correct, we didn’t have to ask for anything additional. Hot Sauce, Hot Peppers, Beverages, Napkins, Utensils, even high chair for the baby was taken care of without ask. They inquired about what was the occasion that brought in the group, and in the great spirit of true customer service provided the family with complimentary dessert. The Bread Pudding IS TO DIE 4! A MUST HAVE!
I will be returning when I visit the area again.
Thank you Les Sisters’ and Pat! Keep doing what...
