My friend suggested we check out Melo Melo for their famous coconut desserts in ready to-go jars, and I was excited. But for being a coconut dessert spot, I was surprised at how few vegan options actually existed. There were only two available (and both were clearly marked which is great): coffee and osmanthus. I went with the latter and I'll admit, the jelly dessert was good: not too sweet which is perfect for my Asian pelate. However, I am torn with how much these costs. $10 for my non-dairy vegan option but most hover around $13. Plus by going late at night, it felt like the worker just went to the back to grab a jar from the fridge and the dreaded payment screen still asked for a tip. I hate tipping culture here lol. You pay for quality sure, but for the amount and the few options I have that's non-dairy, I think I'll pass in the future. I do like their recycling plan where if you bring wash and return 10 jars, they do offer a free one on the house.

New location detected for the yummy coconut desserts! Highlights of the menu: 1. Mango puree coconut jelly 2. Oatmeal 3. Triple latte 4. Durian (new and hot for people can eat durian!) 5. Baked sweet potato 6. Red bean matcha mochi My love for coconut pudding jar is very clearly stated in my previous posts. I attended the store opening and whenever I go pass a store (they’re all in LA area, to make the best use of the route since I’m living in OC) to pick up some jars to stock up my fridge. It’s always good to have a jar for desserts, NetFlix watching. Anytime is a good time for Melo Melo! Just simply love the milk silky coconut milk pudding texture and the delighted taste of their desserts. Fresh fruits with exciting seasonal flavors and a little surprising mochi. Nothing can beat it!!

Have been one of my to-go for sweets craving as it has multiple outlets spread across the city and all flavors they offer are simply indulging. I'd say they're getting more and more creative with flavor mix recently, catching up with all the trends and so far none has failed! My current top list now is their Jasmine Coconut which is also prolly one of the most simple yet also simply delicious with great balance of tea flavor and obviously their signature coconut jelly. All time favorite is doubtlessly their matcha! Most of the time I have them for to go, but they do have spaces to sit in and hang out if you prefer. As they're all ready to eat, service is always speedy regardless how busy they are.
