I do not like this place at all. The service is bad, the food is sub-par at most, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is bad. if you wanna call it a restaurant, so be it. I would call this place a fast food joint you see at the end of a dying plaza. Oh wait it is at the end at an shack of a plaza. The comes out so quick, I do not have time to talk, study, or just hang out. I mean it's not so bad if I was in a hurry but during a lunch rush, they're slow. It's probably because the amount of people in the restaurant, but come on really a place should be constant in the speed in how they give out their food. Fast food joints make their food quick without any care in how the food tastes. Moon House's food quality and taste is just sub-par. If I go to Panda Express on Sawtelle, I get better quality and food than here. The food is either too salty, too vinegary, or too bland. It's like as if they are pre-making it and just heating it up in a pot. The plates of food look disgusting. When I ordered my usual plate of "Hot Braised String Bean," I got a warm to lukewarm Braised string bean with the tail still attached and some of the string beans are not even cooked all the way. The "Pork Chop with Spicy Salt," is even more disgusting. Most of the pieces are so fatty that it's just fat covered in breading- just makes me want to through up thinking about it again. Second to last item I would like to say is the cleanliness. I don't know what the law is on cleaning tables, but the table I sat at was not clean. Like the rag they are using is just smudging the dirt around the table and causing a weird slime on it. Yuck! Where is the Health inspector when you need them to inspect a place like this. I'm sorry but the bathroom is even worse. The restroom should be shut down and closed off for containing hazardous waste. YUCK!!!! Last but not least the service. I do not like the service there anymore. Especially that they changed the staff AGAIN. The Asian waiter with spiked up hair is stupid and should learn how to serve a table. We made room on the table for amount of that was already on it and what was coming. The waiter decides to come to the now impacted side and slide all the food to the other when he could have not been lazy and walked to the other side. But sorry to say that humanity has failed him. He was stupid enough to do that. You know when you get to a REAL Chinese restaurant they serve you the soup like distribute it into the smaller bowls equally. They do not do that anymore... Well not for us for some reason. But yeah I DO NOT LIKE THAT!! It infuriates me that they choose to do that. his tip became lower when...

It has been a few months since my last review so I thought to write one today. We enjoy coming here for simply tasty Chinese food. The lunch menu prices are a good deal.
I really enjoy their Singapore Noodles, so I often order this dish and have leftovers at home.
The place is tiny. Parking is on the lot, but also narrow, enter through Bentley. This is a one way parking lot.
Service is is prompt, but without a smile. Haha! It is fine. Moon House is for a quick bite to eat and to fill your Chinese food cravings. First time for us to try this place! Nothing fancy, just good food! We came here for lunch during the week. It was pretty crowded, but we were seated immediately in a booth. The place is small, but there is a private dining room, separate from the main dining area for large groups. You would need to call ahead and arrange it first.
The lunch specials are a great deal. For $15.95 you get a choice of hot and sour soup or egg drop soup, brown or white rice with one of the several Lunch Special items. We ordered the Orange Peel Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Walnut Shrimp! We also got a nice pot of Jasmine hot tea!
Each dish was so flavorful and tasty! I mean, spot on tasty!!! Beautifully presented too. Now we have our favorite Chinese restaurant on the Westside!

Read moreStopped in for lunch during the week because I work close by. It was quite busy when I arrived for a 1 PM lunch, but was able to be seated right away. Service took a bit to arrive and be able to place the order, but the food items arrived out fairly quickly. It’s not very large on the inside only a handful of tables and booths available. It’s in a small strip mall just east of the 405 and has a lot of free parking spaces available with its attached parking lot.
The menu is fairly large and they do have a lot of great options, and overall the food is good however, not great. Los Angeles has a lot of really great Chinese restaurants and this is definitely a good one, but there are other better ones in town. I ordered an iced tea, but received a hot tea, which was fine, because I can go either way. I started with the Har Gow and it actually arrived after my entrée did, but they were good and larger than I was expecting. For my entrée, I chose the Beef and Broccoli and thought it was pretty good however, a bit more expensive than I was expecting for what you get. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants is Chin Chin in West Hollywood, and they charge only a few dollars more for theirs so I felt the pricing here is a bit too high.
Overall, I would recommend for a lunch option, especially if you are in the area. It’s not my favorite, but it’s certainly...
