Pita Café — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Placed order in person to go. The cashier didn’t know the price on the menu when I inquired about difference between entrees and single items. The cashier over charged and when I inquired, she said the price isn’t updated on their display board & online prices are less for beef kobideh. When I asked to speak to a manager, she panicked and told the lady (Elda) beside her something in Spanish and then Elda said I will help you, I asked if she’s the manager and she said i can speak with her. I asked for cashier’s name but she wouldn’t respond. Very rude customer service and no acknowledgement of the mixup of prices. Not ordering again as beef kobideh was dry and lamb chops had a smell. I am honestly disappointed. I went to this place because the reviews said it was good. Unfortunately, it was not. I got the chicken shawarma and some appetizers, and they don't even compare to some other places I've tried. It may be good for someone who is not familiar with Mediterranean kitchen, but was not authentic nor owned by anyone who is more than just familiar with this type of cuisine. First, their shawarma is not shawarma, it's more of a gyro, it was just swimming in some red sauce, and the combination of flavors was very blant and dry. I love this place without a doubt. Clean dining area and spacious. I always go here for dinner when I stay at work late. I always order the same plate which is number 28 on their menu a mix of three different meats (chicken, beef, and lamb), jasmine rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. The combo and it always satisfies me every time I order it; its a big plate for big eaters such as myself. The have vegan options too for vegan eaters or health conscious folks. They are fast too so do not worry waiting too long. Great customer service, they bring the food to you. Bathroom is not the best but I mainly go for the food which they have not disappoint.
