Service was literally the worst I have recieved in my entire life. Felt almost intentionally passive aggressive because of how inattentive the staff was. Didn’t help that I saw them drinking and chatting constantly in the back of the kitchen, while no one was attending to us. Ended up spending an hour and a half there, just to get 4 rolls. One of the rolls he placed an order for two of when I only ordered one, another roll never came out which I had to tell them to take off my reciept in the end bc they were so inattentive, AND we ordered 3 appetizers which clearly the staff never even put in to the kitchen to have made, bc they weren’t even on the reciept. We sat out or table for over an hour getting none of the food we ordered, while everyone around us was being served their entrees within 10-15 minutes of ordering.
The food and atmosphere here is incredible, it’s one of the only spots in the valley that feels similar to a genuine sushi bar in Japan, but the service my girlfriend and I recieved last night was so horrible that it makes me never want to return. I had only been here once before and it was a great experience, so I don’t know if my first experience was just an amazing night for them, or if this was an extremely off night, I’m not sure. What I do know is at the very least I will never even consider going to this establishment on a busy weekend again. Wish I could rank this place 4-5 stars like it deserves based solely on food and atmosphere, but the service decimated our dining experience and ruined what would have been an otherwise GREAT date night… I would love to give this place another shot considering how good my first dining experience was here, but would want a discount or coupon of some kind bc of how displeased I was with the most recent...
Read moreWow! Where do I start? First of all I'm certainly a sushi snob and only eat at the best sushi places and not a American roll eater. When I first walked in I was greeted with some awesome smiling Thai faces and sat at the counter. My first concern was there were no Japanese chefs but often foreigners go to Japan and learn to make sushi. In this case they had learned fron a Japanese chef. I started with the Otoro (tuna belly) which was perfect. I mean perfect rice, temperature and fish cut correctly. Next was Hotate (Scallop) which was also excellent. Then Salmon, unagi, and finished with Uni imported from Hokkaido! All were perfect and a nice miso soup. I finished my beer and join in for some sake bombs for the perfect evening. Great food made by happy Thai friends you really can't go wrong. Happy workers, pefect ingredients makes tasty food. Did I mention the excellent service? Everything was perfect for me but another customer complained about his order and the asked nicely if they could make it over? And in about 5 min he had a new dish exactly how he wanted it. I found out later that person is a regular customer but I got the feeling they would do for anyone. Great service, great food, happy people! What...
Read moreWow, what a hidden gem. We have been searching far and wide for a go-to sushi spot in the northwest end of the valley but they have all been hit or miss. I have lived in this portion of the valley for 25 years and I have no idea how I had not heard of this restaurant.
I hopped onto google and this place was the third search result, lower review count, so it made me curious.
We went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and the food was incredible. The place itself is small, but the decor is nice and very much in line with most sushi restaurants.
We tried the shishito peppers, the tuna rice cakes, their salads, gyoza, sashimi, nigiri, rolls…all of it was top notch. Even their eel sauce was spiced up, delicious.
My wife and I ate like royalty and we expected the bill to be significantly higher, so when it came back less than we were anticipating, it added the cherry on top.
We definitely plan on being back and hope this was not a one...
