Today 28,October 2018, I ,along with my son n his friend visited Woodlands Indian restaurant for lunch around 3 pm,we drove around 30 miles from Graffith observatory to woodlands Indian hotel to have our lunch but were disappointed. My son ordered for bhelpuri n masala dosa, bhel was some what OK OK, dosa he could eat only half n left it ,said it was no good. I n his friend ordered for south indian thali meals, chapathi wasn't good, I ate only half, rather they don't know how to make, the sambar was spoilt, told the waiter, he brought another cup n replaced, to our horror the same sambar was re heated n served, I ordered for sweet n sour lemon juice ,the Waiter served the lemon juice n when I sipped, I got only salt which was lying at the bottom, wanted to spit but swallowed with difficulty. I stirred n tasted ,the salt was too much, told the waiter, he replaced another glass of juice this time I asked without the salt in it. The thali contained green sabji, chana masala, kurma, masala dahi, rice, split sambar, pepper rasam, papad. Vermicelli payasam, pickle . None of the items satisfied me ,especially the Bangaloreans find it difficult to OK any south Indian dish abroad. The Karnataka is the best place for best food.

This place was definitely hit or miss. Poori/Chole Bature was the highlight of the lunch menu along with Veggie Noodles and Kothu Parotta. Even the manchurian was good but the Special Rava Dosa was way to spicy with chillis excessively being added onto it (even mixed with the actual batter). Unbearable spiciness even with the chutneys that were given with it and the Mango Lassi was way too sour. Portion of the food we ordered seemed stale and old, for example, the raita was spoilt due to the vegetables being added to it and probably sat outside too long, and the Dahi Vada we ordered was also stale tasting and the lime pickle was 100% old. The lime tasted spoilt. We gave feedback to the staff and they took it seriously and also refunded for the dosa so kudos to the staff for that. I would recommend this place regardless due to the staff and the food choices being hit or miss.

Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, Woodlands Indian Cuisine is a culinary gem that promises a delightful journey through the flavors of India. As a food enthusiast with a love for authentic Indian dishes, I was eager to explore their menu, and my visit to this charming restaurant left me utterly enchanted.

Upon entering Woodlands Indian Cuisine, I was greeted with an ambiance that exuded warmth and elegance. The menu featured an array of delectable dishes, but it was their dessert offerings that truly caught my attention.

After savoring a scrumptious Indian meal, I decided to indulge in their "Gulab Jamun" for dessert – a classic Indian sweet that I had been craving for a long time. The golden, syrup-soaked dumplings were delicately spiced and melt-in-your-mouth soft, offering a blissful balance of sweetness and flavor that was truly divine.

But it wasn't just the delectable desserts that made my experience at Woodlands Indian Cuisine memorable; it was the impeccable service provided by a waitress named Aarti that truly stood out. With her warm smile and attentive nature, Aarti made me feel like a cherished guest throughout my dining experience. Her knowledge of the menu and her genuine passion for the cuisine added an extra layer of enjoyment to my culinary journey through India.

Woodlands Indian Cuisine is a testament to the art of crafting authentic Indian dishes with a focus on quality and tradition. Each dessert, especially the Gulab Jamun, is prepared with care and a commitment to delivering an exquisite Indian culinary experience.

In conclusion, if you're seeking a delightful Indian culinary adventure in Los Angeles, Woodlands Indian Cuisine is an absolute must-visit. Their desserts offer a delightful journey through the sweet side of India. And if you're lucky enough to be served by Aarti, you'll experience a level of hospitality that will make your dining experience at Woodlands Indian Cuisine...

Went in for my Anniversary dinner with my Husband. Food was OK but Service was HORRIBLE and VERY DISAPPOINTING. We were browsing through their menu on their website and came across a coupon for 15%off for Dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Anniversary was on Tuesday so after we were done with our dinner we asked the server about the dinner discount they have advertised on their website. His response was he is unaware about it but can give us 10%off if we pay cash. To the 15% off dinner discount he asked us to talk to his manager. When we talked to the manager about it he simply denied that and asked us to bring the coupon in print. We explained him that the coupon on their website says no where to PRINT and PRESENT and it is on their own website not a 3rd party coupon. To which he replied that "it doesn't say that we can show it on phone either"..Seriously!!! If it doesn't say anything how the coupon should be presented, you should take it in either form!!! And when we talked about the 10% cash discount, he denied that too!!! We called our server who told us about the 10% discount on cash payment and he changed his statement saying that he meant on a CASH CARD!!! What the hell in the world is a cash card??? I have had the worst experience in customer service at this place and I am not going their ever again. I am going to convey the same to my family and friends. The whole matter was not about the discount, it was about how you acknowledge your own publishing. By denying the coupon on your own website are you trying to convey that it is a fake publicity to get the customers in and you don't intend to offer any...

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype Anymore

We used to love this restaurant a few years ago, but sadly, our recent visit with a group of 17 was a complete letdown. What was once a reliable South Indian restaurant has significantly gone downhill in quality, service, and hospitality.

To begin with, we requested seating together as a large group, which they struggled to arrange. Since we had elderly people with us, we offered to split and sit wherever seats were available. However, the staff insisted we all sit together—and it became clear why when we saw a mandatory $70 gratuity added to our bill later.

The food was the biggest disappointment. The dosas tasted like machine-made with sour batter—no one in our group could finish a single dosa. The thali rice was undercooked, and worse, some of our friends experienced stomach issues afterward. Many items had a strong raw masala smell, especially the kothu parotta, which was nearly inedible.

The service was chaotic. Orders were delayed, sent to wrong tables, and when we tried to cancel some after waiting too long, we were told they were ā€œalmost readyā€ (twice!)—but still waited over 30 minutes. Some dishes arrived cold or half-cooked.

This visit ruined what was meant to be a joyful stop after visiting the Malibu Balaji Temple. It’s clear that management has changed—and not for the better. The current North Indian staff seem disconnected from the South Indian dishes they’re serving, and it shows in both taste and authenticity.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. We made the mistake so you...
