Update: I had a disappointing experience at Nick the Greek, but their response was incredible. After the owner learned about our issues, they invited us back for a complimentary meal. This experience not only touched our hearts but also taught our family a valuable lesson in compassion and exceptional service. We returned to a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a complete contrast to our previous visit. I'm deeply grateful to the owner and the team for their dedication to excellence. We look forward to future visits, knowing we'll always be in good hands.
My recent visit to this Greek restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. It was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had.
To start, when I called to inquire about their closing time, it felt like they were intentionally avoiding my questions, pretending not to hear my voice, and then abruptly hanging up. This was a red flag right from the beginning.
When we arrived with our two young children, they initially allowed us to stay and finish our dinner. However, at the stroke of 10 PM, a staff member approached our table and demanded that we leave the restaurant immediately. I tried to explain that we had kids with us and requested a bit more time, but they were utterly inflexible, even going as far as threatening to call security.
What baffled me even more was a person named Chris, who claimed that his manager would no longer provide us with service. This level of rudeness and lack of empathy was beyond belief.
I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before considering this restaurant. Who would willingly subject themselves to such a shocking and unpleasant experience? It leaves me questioning how they even acquired their jobs in the...
Read moreHard to find a decent Greek place in the valley, my fiance is full blown Greek as is her whole family so I've had the privilege of tasting classic homemade Greek food, and I have to say for what they do offer it's not bad at all. I got the avgolemeno which was ok.. there was not orzo in one bowl and no veggies either of my bowls which was weird, flavor was a bit lacking too, but to be fair I' haven't had a good avgolemeno soup anywhere else I've tried either. Nothing compares to homemade I guess lol. My fiance got the lamb/beef gyro pita, she (the Greek said she was pleasantly suprised with how good it was. She said it's better than a lot of the places in the valley we've been to that have offer the same thing. She was impressed with the inside as well and though it was cool how they had Greek drinks there. We wish the menu did offer other Greek food like pastitso dolmades or moussaka, we will definitely be back to try some more stuff though, wish I was hungrier when I went so I could have tried more! Definitely worth a try if your into Greek or Mediterranean foods. It's super busy right now so expect some wait time for food orders but it's also their first week open so I get it. To those demanding fast wait times, this probably isn't the best option for sometime. A new popular restaurant needs time to get in the groove, find out there strengths and improve on it; I think to give a new restaurant a bad review based on wait time right now is...
Read moreAs a devoted enthusiast of Greek cuisine, I was eager to try Nick the Greek in Woodland Hills. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menu lacks traditional staples like lamb chops, which are essential to authentic Greek dining. The fries were particularly unappetizing—limp and undercooked, resembling uncooked noodles. The overall flavor of the dishes was bland and uninspired, reminiscent of generic fast food rather than heartfelt Greek cooking. Considering the prices—$14.95 for a beef/lamb gyro pita and $19.95 for a souvlaki plate —the meal felt overpriced for the quality received. The food didn't convey the warmth and passion typically associated with Greek cuisine; instead, it felt like a product of a corporate chain lacking personal touch. I can't comment on the in-house service or atmosphere, as my orders have been exclusively takeout. Overall, Nick the Greek falls short for those seeking authentic and...
