My boyfriend and I stayed in the King executive suite (I believe that's what it was called). We could only get the 1st floor, which we did not like as we felt we were on display. Any other floor would have felt more private. However there were many aspects of this room we loved! The bathroom was spacious with a wonderfully large shower. Paul Mitchell amenities were supplied with some cute touches like a tiny pack of resealable hand sanitizing wipes. When I asked for extra towels, I really got extra towels! The wet bar area was awesome and the microwave was an added extra touch that we really loved. The living room area was cozy and we were able to pull the desk out to make a dining table. We like to order in, but Trader Joe's is right across the street if you want more than what the small convenience shop offers. We liked how the bedroom area was separated from the living room area with it's own TV. There are connections on the bedside clock that allows for iPhone connection so we could listen to our own music. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Early check-in is a deal breaker for us, which was not a problem whatsoever during this visit. I would have preferred free parking to the $10 charge but at least it was more reasonable than some of the other hotels in Woodland Hills. We both drove separately and neither of us were successful getting access to the exit gate with our key cards, although simply ringing the bell for service allowed us a quick exit. Our room was right across the hall from the ice machine (which was operating among Covid precautions). It was so nice to have ice, small victories. The air conditioning was perfect! The amount of times I've complained about the AC in nice hotels not working properly makes me shake my head. However we were chillin all night and it was amazing! In the future I would love to see robes made available as an added luxurious touch. In addition, it would be really nice if connecting a personal device (iPhone, iPad etc.) to the TV to gain access to personal accounts of Netflix, Hulu etc was an option. Sometimes you just wanna binge watch your favorite shows. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott but the room won us over. We will...
Read moreI've stayed at this hotel a couple of times and never had any issues. Maybe I picked the wrong time or the wrong place this go around. I asked for a room with no one above me due to noise issues in the past at other hotels. At check in the girl told me we were on the 4th floor and the 5th and 6th floors had been blocked off due to the heat. Well on several occasions I could hear running or stomping above me. Could've been the staff, I don't know. Saturday we drove over 2 hours and couldn't ever find parking for the beach. We came back to the room, my mom wasn't feeling very well so she said she was gonna take a nap in her room. She put the privacy sign on. I used the app to request towels and pillows and stuff. The app doesn't specify which reservation is which room so I just clicked the first one listed and in the chat request I typed my room number so they would be sure to come to the right room. Well my mom ends up telling me that they knocked on her door and woke her up, even with her privacy sign on. The bistro coffee staff are not friendly and they advertised Starbucks coffee but it doesn't taste like Starbucks at all. It's nasty and you can't pay with Starbucks cards or apps. Then Saturday night our power went out for like 2 hours. They don't have a backup generator and the room was too hot and stuff and noisy to be able to sleep. My 6 year old didn't even go to sleep till like 11 p.m. that night. I realize the blackout/power isn't the Courtyards fault but if they had a backup generator it wouldn't have affected us at all and we could've been sleeping peacefully. We were on the verge of leaving and going to find another hotel in a different city but we needed gas and wouldn't have enough to make it to a different city and with the power out we couldn't get gas before leaving. This whole trip was planned as a peaceful and relaxing vacation and it just became a huge disaster. Since the courtyard didn't have a backup generator we felt like they should have comped the rooms for Saturday night or offered us to extend our stay for one more night for free to make up for the horrible evening. They did nothing. When staff was informed of the issues they...
Read moreMoved to a lower floor due to repair work involving repeated pounding being done at 7am. In rushing out, I left my diamond rings on the table next to the bed in the noisy room. Realized it two hours later, was told the room was not yet cleaned and nothing was reported. Got a key to go back in. It was clean with no diamonds to be found. Took several calls and discussions with housekeeping to track down who cleaned the room and the location of my jewelry. The cleaner said she knew I changed rooms and gave it to her supervisor. The housekeeper said she was called to clean it AS SOON AS I turned in the keys two hours prior. No one had record of the jewelry and the housekeeping supervisor was in a meeting but as I paced the hallway, the housekeeper called her supervisor on her personal cell three times to tell her I was waiting, not leaving the room and what she told me. Couldn’t believe there was no effort to get the jewelry to me —- so I voiced those concerns after finally collecting them and seeing the description was that it was a silver ring(singular) after being asked to sign for it. See photo. They comped the room but a formal apology took DAYS of complaining—-hotel mgmt suggested comping the room was a substitute for acknowledging what went wrong. The GM only learned about it because I complained to corporate and produced documentation. The GM said all lost and found items are treated the same and there’s never been an issue so he didn’t take issue with the handing of expensive jewelry. The description (IMO) places a $50 -200 value on two rings worth...
