Stay away!! Chef Josette is rude, racist and disrespectful! My family and I made a reservation for 11 to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. 10 minutes into us being sat down, chef Josette came in asking if we made a reservation, we confirmed that we did. She then said our party was to big of a reservation and that our party was taking tables and space away from other customers to be able to eat (what?? There was only 2 other couples and no one else came in after that).
She came back a few minutes later rudely rushing my mom for her order. My dad then told her it was her 50th birthday celebration and to not do that and to give us time to look at the menu. She retreated but came back a minute later asking for her menus as she needed them for her other customers (Once again the 2 other couples were already served and no one else came in). I approached her to complain of her behavior and she completely dismissed me and walked away.
From the other reviews on here of her belittling her latino staff and talking down to them in front of customers, this was definitely apparent from how she treated me and my family.
Do not come here to support this business of hers! As a family with deep ties in the food industry, we will be advising our friends and family against coming here and about the business and ethic practices this owner and chef abides by. We will be spreading the word of our experience. Who would want to support such person...
Read moreEarlier this morning (3/3) my family and I celebrated my mother's birthday and this place is racist, rude and has bad service for big groups. If they didn't want our service they should’ve said that they couldn't accommodate a big group. Instead they sat us down and were rushing us to order, rushing us to eat and rudely came over and commented on how we were too loud. Other tables were being serviced differently than ours and they simply ruined my mother's 50th birthday brunch. Chef Josette came back again to rush and my dad told her it was my mother's birthday and to give us time. She then said okay and left. She came back a third time asking for menus because we had all the menus and there were no menus for other customers. The place was empty. There was only 2 other couples that had already been served. .. And no one came in after that. I then tried talking to her to let her know not to be rude but she dismissed me and walked away and never came back. Chef Josette was very rude and racist to my family! All of my family members have worked in the restaurant industry so we all know what good customer service is supposed to look like. If you're Latino or any other minority do...
Read moreLemon Tarts, croissants and french sandwiches at this hidden french bakery and cafe which is the child of Chef Josette. Literally located in the cut, bordering baldwin hills and culver city, you would never know this place was here. It is also a cafe with sidewalk seating, serving up french breakfast, sandwiches, salads, notable french cuisines entrees and desserts. From Croque Monsier and escargot, to blood sausage and beef bourguignon. It's a sweet little place with pleasant and quality tastes. Everything is fresh and the desserts are made with french patisserie integrity. The lemon tart is my favorite and I've been getting them here for years. Their sandwiches are quite good and on great french baguette (flaky on the outside and soft on the inside). I haven't tried any of their entrees so I can't say how good they are but having just visited France I look forward to trying some of their dishes to see how if it lives up to...
