This Italian restaurant, owned by a Neapolitan family, truly captures the warm, welcoming spirit of Southern Italy. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the overall vibe makes you feel like you’re dining with family. As a Neapolitan myself, I’m usually cautious about Italian food abroad (I say that all the time!) But this place came highly recommended, and it absolutely delivered. We started with the fried calamari, which were honestly the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. We followed with a couple of pasta dishes: the pesto linguine and the eggplant and cheese with tomato sauce. Both were rich, hearty, and incredibly flavourful—definitely on the heavier side, but completely worth it. To finish, we shared a light and delicious tiramisu made without eggs, which was the perfect way to close the meal. Street parking is available nearby, with meters depending on the time of day.

My family and I have eaten many welcoming, delicious dinners here over the years with amazing service and food. This is to let people know what a great lunch spot Pastina is, especially given how few strong business or pleasure sit-down lunch options there are in this corner of Westwood/Rancho. Watch out for the fresh baked bread that comes to the table with olive oil. It might fill you too much to enjoy the fantastic food from soups to vegetarian to pastas to flavorful meats and fish. As I write this review I’m enjoying a simply grilled but unbelievably tasty pounded chicken breast, potato barley soup in a chicken stock and some parma. Frank, Nancy and the gang will make you feel at home in this special neighborhood place.

Nice Italian restaurant, they have a nice classical menu. A wide selection of antipasti, pasta, secondi and desserts or gelato/sorbet. We both were interested in the linguine alla frutti di mare. It was really good but somehow, everything was on the top and the pasta on the lower part. I would suggest you to mix the pasta at the beginning for more flavors😋 We then went for the Torta della Nonna by Bindi as a dessert. I was very happy I choose this, lemon custard pie, it was really good. I would recommend this place for a calm dinner.

The waiter Jonathan is very good. He does a great job of keeping you filled and happy but not being part of the conversation.

The white star tablecloth iron experience in a comfortable West LA setting can be hitter and missed as far as crowd. If you're lucky no one's there and you enjoy the restaurant to yourself. But if it's crowded is still as thoroughly enjoyable.

Mike the owner doesn't exceptional job of seeing over the place and has for years. The food a couple years ago I was lacking a little bit but I do have to say that they really brought it up two notches and I will give it 4 stars at this date and time.

Everything traditional light or heavy mostly good pastas and lots of great appetizers and specials are on the menu daily.

Parking is easy up with meter is around the neighborhood or side streets. Be careful for the permit only areas!

My Tara me Sue rating is 1 in its own world. In order to write an Italian restaurant you really must rate the tiramisu. For therein lies the true dedication of the chefs and what they're trying to say to you through their restaurant.

The tiramisu rating is a 3.6 out of...

Well the service was pretty good considering the waiter didn't speak English very well. If it was a Chinese restaurant people would complain about that. The decor was nice and bright. Not too loud not too quiet. EVERYONE there was at least sixty years old though. Now the food. The appetizers were pretty good. That is all. But the entrees were just not very good. I don't understand all the good reviews. The three of us ordered veggie pizza, veggie lasagne and some pasta dish. The pizza was just a regular dry pizza with almost no cheese and no sauce. But the toppings oh my god. They put steamed vegetables straight from a bag for the toppings! I can't believe that. STEAMED VEGETABLES on a freaking pizza! Not good. The pasta dish was C- if that. The lasagna. Probably the tastiest out of our entrees. That's not saying much though. But the lasagna had some sort of paste substance between the layers of pasta that didn't quite look or taste like anything you would want to eat. If this is "authentic" Italian then next time I'll pass. But if you like the food then go for it. It's...

I will not lie, the food was decent, but the server was very rude. As soon as we walked in, he didn't say a word, and we were seated, and that's okay. When he brought the bread out, he tossed the bread basket, and also the silverware. There was one other table besides us so it was not busy at all. When the food came out, he tossed the dish down and also tossed the spoons down in the middle of the table. When we asked him if there was a problem he said "no" as expected. We told him we feel like he was being rude and he said "ME? I have been a server for many yrs and you're the second person to tell me that" So I said okay and decided to let it go. But we didn't really enjoy the food bc of the unpleasant customer service experience. We live close by and we are always trying different Italian restaurants but if you aren't Italian, please avoid thus place. Save your energy and time please. The owner, I saw him chatting with a customer at the bar, he seemed professional and welcoming, maybe he should have a word with his servers before they bring his...
