If you want to be transferred back to a typical 90s vietnamese restaurant, look no further. This place definitely brings back my memories growing up and eating with my family having pho and rice plate. I came with my boyfriend impromptu on a weekend. Place was simi crowded even though it was 3 or 4pm. I hadn't been to this place for almost 15 years but still looked the same.
Place is actually run by a vietnamese family. Always a good sign. 👍 staff are very friendly and tentative. broth is more flavorful that it tastes more cinnamon and fish sauce. My boyfriend had regular combo pho. I've gotten the rice plate. It was a hot day, and the veggies that came with the pork egg rolls were limping and looked sad. However, the egg rolls were crispy. It was mainly just pork filling and no black mushrooms and vermicelli. I also got the rice plate with broken rice. Seemed okay, and the food was brought out really fast. Definitely recommend coming here more for the pho rather than rice plates.
We've ordered from here before through delivery app, which we usually get bun bo hue - the only place that serves blood and pork hock in the west la area that we can find thus far. From the takeout, the bun bo hue broth tastes more like the same pho broth just adding "spice" to it. Still good considering this dish is hard to find.
Will come again. Like their choices of boba and vietnamese dessert drink options. Really enjoyed the feeling like you're visiting your old uncle and aunties. Support mom and pop shops. They've been...
Read moreI've been going all a lot of the Pho places in the area and thought this place nearby would be a good choice based on other ratings.
However it did not live up to those ratings. The service wasn't the best and the food matched. When the waiter came to our table they stood behind me and didn't say anything so I had no idea they were waiting to take our order. I ordered the Marinated Chickenw ith fried rice. The chicken, while it had good marinade, was dry and over cooked. The fried rice also tasted unusual. My companion similarly wasn't thrilled about their order either.
I rarely leave a place without eating most of my food or asking for the leftovers to go, here we simply left the food on the plates.
When I went to pay I had to wait around for a while despite a large number of the staff just sitting out in the restaurant eatting oranges that sellers from outside came in and tried to sell to the restaurants customers.
I don't expect anyone on their break or lunch to stop and get up to let me pay but I would expect that someone would've flagged down whoever was still on the clock to...
Read moreThe first times I've had it was here. Bun Bo Hue. I was off set by the blood cubes and pork joints, and thought... I'm not sure I can stomach this.
Then I decided, because it smelled so good, not to return it.
It was delicious. Everything was just perfectly paired in the spicy noodle soup.
Thus my adventure for Bun Bo Hue began. Any time I ventured to other cities on travel for work I'd find a place that made it and go eat it. Always... to my dissapointment, although there were a few places that came semi close.
Finally, I go to order Bun Bo Hue from the one off Reseda which is not my usual Pho 999 and it wasn't as good. But, I didn't realize it.
I thought maybe it was just a bad day, so the next day I went down and ordered in the restaurant, and it was still fantastic. Confused, I looked at my receipt and from my delivery service and realized it said Reseda and not Sepulveda.
The place is a little cramped for space between tables , but the food is fantastic. If you like spicy and want an adventure try the Bun Bo Hue for yourself and prepar...
