Perfect Donuts — Restaurant in Los Angeles

2 stars instead of 1 due to the fact that the experience helped me come to the realization that my money would be much better spent getting groceries instead of going out. First, my eyes almost popped out of my head when they told me the total, $15 for a medium coffee, one donut (bearclaw), and a plain bacon egg and cheese on white toast. I go to many donut shops in the area and have never seen prices that high. I tried to reason with myself that hopefully the meal itself would at least make up for it, but unfortunately not the case. Bear claw was decent, but the sandwich was barely toasted so ended up getting soggy not to mention there was also ham in there even after she clarified that I just wanted bacon. The most egregious offense to me was the coffee. I have had better coffee at shady gas stations than the coffee I had here. Basically like lacroix in the sense that it was mostly water, with just a whisper of the flavor of coffee. Very disappointed, never going back here again.. The older lady was so rude.. I had asked for a dozen donuts and I knew which donuts I wanted to pick out.. the lady seemed annoyed and ignored me and picked out the donuts herself.. they did not taste fresh.. probably gave me old donuts.. I have been visiting this shop for over 20 years. I buy donuts seldomly, but they still have great donuts, hot chocolate and croissants. I have always felt their prices were reasonable, and their donuts even one day old are not stale tasting like other donut shops.

They don’t usually carry my favorite donut, but when I ask for it, the will have it for me the next day.

The shop owners have an interesting background and it is nice being able to learn about others backgrounds...
