I have been going to this gym for 40 years. I have always left great comments about this gym and the people work there. I'm having a problem now because the girls that work at night are changing the time we must leave. Tell people they must leave 5 or 3 minutes before the gym closes. It closes at 11:00 during the week and they tell people they must leave 5 minutes before 11:00 the same on the weekend, 5 minutes before 8:00. This started about 3 or 4 months ago I think they got together and said we need to get them out earlier. I thought it would pass, but it did not.
This is causing me a problem because I have arthritis in both knees and my back. I have osteoporosis also I elderly I'm 73. My doctor said I must keep my strong bones and muscles strong. Every minute is important to me because I can't move well during the day. This is making me very sick because I need to work out for my life. And they are trying to get me kicked out. I'm literally throwing up now since I found out they are teaming up on me.
These girls are mad at me for asking them why are they saying this. Now they are trying to get me kicked out of the gym. By saying I screaming at them so they can tell the manager and get me kicked out. Why would I start all of a sudden scream at them when I have left nice comments about 2 or 3 of them. Other have heard them lie about the time to leave. They heard Viola say she had things to do, and we need to go now. She reported me because I had to got the bathroom and it was 8:03 They are ganging up on me, all because I spoke up. I told Neo about her already.
Tonight 08-27-2025 one of them screamed at me when I went to the front to ask why was she saying we had to leave early. She admitted it was 11 and walked away. I ask Mia her name and she would not tell me. You can not do that at your place of business. I will get her name tomorrow. So I'm going to report them to the BBB. I'm going to call the corporate office. So they are doing this to me because I spoke up. Like I said you can see all the nice thing I've said over the years about this LA Fitness. I'm reporting Viola, Mia and the other girl who...
Read moreThe gym is decent as far as the availability and quality of machines and equipment.
Our biggest problem has been with the shady way that the staff / organization do business. Specifically, around personal training, it’s not worth it. Let me say that again no matter what they tell you it’s not worth it. What you get for what they charge is certainly not a good value. on top of that, they have the sneaky ways of taking your paid for appointments away from you.
We paid for a certain number of lessons, then while we were out of town for a few weeks on a work assignment, we came back to find out that near the end of our term. We had 13 appointments available but only 22 days to use them. Once you’ve paid for something it should be yours. It shouldn’t expire when the term of your personal training contract expires. This may be in the contract that I signed but it was not explained and it’s highly unethical regardless if it’s in the contract or not.
My recommendation is the personal training outside of the LA fitness organization for personal training, possibly or free resources available online.
The information and motivation gained from the personal training is shallow at best and completely worthless at worst.
Gyms are notorious for shady business practices when it comes to misleading contracts and financial interactions. I should’ve known, take heed and don’t make the same mistake.
Gym membership is one thing, but don’t trust LA fitness for personal training or any contractual arrangement. Honestly, this is a requirement to stealing, and they get away with it over and over again.
During the six months that we’ve been attending this gym, the staff there have largely turned over multiple times my suspicion is that it has to do with people not wanting to be affiliated with the shady business practices within the LA fitness...
Read moreThe actually energy of this place is awesome in my opinion however let me explain
I'm there 5-6 days a week religiously. I only go there for heavy weight training, kick ass and leave. I use the parking lot, weights and weight machines, drinking fountains, toilets, and occasionally the showers...that's it so keep that in mind... I have read many reviews of this place. So I'll say this from the beginning of the journey there to the end.
Other than a costco and a pep boys across the street I do not like the neighborhood. Its industrial and kinda crusty. The parking lot is cool but always full because this is a very cool gym with high traffic especially during rush hour gym times Its a fairly massive gym with a dinky little parking lot.
Upon arrival the front desk staff is normal pleasant and informative.
I only use the locker room for toilets and showers. (I dont use the lockers, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, rackets ball courts, and i dont play backetball)
The cardio machine area is damn nice (although I dont do cardio)
All the machines and weights there are very well updated.
The organization of the weights is never ever organized fully especially the smaller weights (not the gyms problems just the inconsideration weight lifters who dont care about others and dont know how to rerack their weights)
I have never had a problem with not having hot water there so i dont know what that google review complaints are all about.
The crowd there I both admire and complain about at times but no big deal. It seems like every time I go there I'm running into 3 different types of people
1 Really young people who have no idea how to work out and are just occupying machines which i admire their effort but it sucks
2 Retired elderly
3 Bodybuilder-like tattoed thuggy-like dudes who look like they are in a gang...
