A Culinary Gem Worth the Drive!
I have had the pleasure of dining at Post and Beam on multiple occasions, and it was absolutely worth the drive! This restaurant is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations in every way. This restaurant is pretty far for me, but it is worth the drive every time
Here are The dishes I have enjoyed so far…
Corn Bread with Whipped Honey Butter The meal kicked off with this delightful starter that set the tone for the entire experience. The cornbread was warm, moist, and paired perfectly with the light and airy whipped honey butter. A fantastic start to the meal!
These vegan crab cakes were a revelation! The flavors were spot-on, and the texture was surprisingly similar to traditional crab cakes. A great option for both vegans and non-vegans alike.
The shrimp & grits were a highlight of my meal. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, and the grits were creamy and well-seasoned, a delightful complement. A must-try for seafood lovers!
The jerk catfish had just the right amount of spice and flavor. The dish showcased the chef's expertise in balancing bold and nuanced tastes. A unique and delicious choice.
The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with savory goodness. The portion size was generous, and the accompanying sides elevated the dish to perfection.
Mac N' Smoked Cheese, Herbed Breadcrumbs Even as a non-vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed this vegetarian dish. The mac n' cheese was creamy, and the herbed breadcrumbs added a delightful crunch. A great option for vegetarians and omnivores alike.
The Brussels sprouts were divine. The maple balsamic glaze added a sweet and tangy note, and the butternut squash puree was a delicious accompaniment. A fantastic vegetarian and gluten-free option.
The smoked potatoes were a delightful surprise. The white remoulade added a zesty kick, and the dish was a satisfying combination of smokiness and creaminess. Finally…my favorite
Braised Oxtail Grilled Cheese: This dish was a symphony of flavors! The oxtail was perfectly braised, and the combination with the grilled cheese was a match made in heaven. A rich and satisfying indulgence.
In addition to the outstanding food, the ambiance was warm, and the service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. While the restaurant is a bit of a drive for me, I can confidently say that Post and Beam is a culinary destination worth the journey. I look forward to returning soon to explore more of their...
Read moreThe only thing good about this place was the atmosphere and the music. We had a reservation at 12:30. We arrived right on time. We sat in the front for 15 minutes before we were seated. Mind you, at least six open tables were available. Once we were seated, we were escorted to the back by three dirty tables that had napkins, dishes, food left over from other customers just sitting on the table.
We sat we had no menus. So we just assumed that the waiter would show up and bring us some. 20 minutes later. Still no menus and still no waitress or waiter. So we went up to the hostess and asked him if we could move to the bar thinking we would get service sooner. However, we were sadly mistaken. We sat an additional 25 minutes before a young man actually came up to us and greeted us and asked us if he could help us?
We ordered our food and drinks. As we're waiting for our food and drinks to arrive, the Cook that's preparing the waffles. We're watching him eat the bacon that's supposed to be going on plates. By this time y'all we were completely over this place. We did not have high expectations for the food. And for good reasons. The shrimp and grits with eggs was completely watered down. I had to pour water literally off my grits and eggs just to eat it. It was absolutely terrible. We never received the water or our cocktails that we ordered. This place is completely disorganized. They don't have enough wait staff. If they do, the way staff is in the back I assure you they are not on the floor serving customers. The unprofessionalism of the young man that took our order was just terrible.
I see the other people have had great experiences at this restaurant and that's exactly what we were hoping for. However, that was completely the opposite. I will never return to this establishment and I don't recommend it. From the food being disgusting to the cooks, preparing the food, eating it in front of you when they know we can see them. Just not a pleasant experience when you're spending $80 to $100 for food that you can't even eat and being charged for cocktails you...
Read moreI've never been to a bottomless brunch that stopped serving before time. I wish I could give zero stars. I went there for bottomless brunch. The menu explicitly stated 90 minutes bottomless from first pour. We were on time for our 1pm reservation. The waiter came with water and took our order 15 minutes after we were seated. We ordered bottomless and food at the same time. The food came before the bottomless at 1:30pm. When the food arrived, we reminded them that we are still waiting for our drinks. They came about 2 minutes later with our champagne and orange juice at 1:32pm. We ate (small portions for the price--especially the pecan pie french toast) our food and drank our bottomless. At 1:45pm we had finished our second bottle of champagne and asked for another final bottle. They never came back with a bottle, but they came back with the check at 1:55pm. We asked where was the bottle and they said that our bottomless was over. The waiter gave us the excuse that the order was put in at 1:19; however, we didn't get our drinks until 1:32 and the menu explicitly states 90 minutes from first pour. She asked the manager and came back saying that it wasn't possible. I asked, if we can't get another bottle can we at least get one more glass, she said no. Then we spoke to the manager on the way out, and he gave us every excuse under the sun. First, it was that he wasn't aware about the 1:32 first pour; he thought our time started at 1:19. Then he admitted that he knew about the 1:32 first pour, but it was that we had already had 2 bottles of champagne and that it would be "irresponsible" of the establishment to keep serving us past 2 bottles. He gave the excuse that 2 bottles was the limit. So, is it bottomless? The manager never apologized or offered a solution; he just kept lying and giving excuses. We will...
