Songbird Cafe — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I went for a Halloween party. It was descent however, it plainly stated on the ticket, there was goodie bags for the early birds. I inquired about them and of course knew nothing about it. I finally got someone that did. He gave me and the others a phone to put our names on the list for the bags. He said we could pick them up when we leave. I went to get my goodie bag and did not receive mine. I talked to him about it he told me to send him a message on Instagram and he would get the situation sorted. I did and he never replied. I gave songbird another shot for Valentine's day. I RSVP and got there before 10:30. I stood in line, for them to tell me oh its $15. I showed them I RSVP. She says oh that before 10:30 its 10:37. Cool lounge within the Songbird Cafe where you enter through the secret entrance in Chinatown. Low lighting, random DJ spinning throughout the week, cocktails, and a hip-hop aesthetic in the bathroom along the walls makes this hole-in-the wall a wise visit. I do wish the drink was a bit stiffer but because the bartender had me waiting forever so he put it on the house! That's ideal service but not always to be expected, I sincerely appreciated it since I was strapped financially anyway. I came out to watch a few friends spin mashups, blends and remixes, so I was in for a good time. Very unassuming/hole in the wall cafe in plaza above chinatown metro and let me tell you, the food was absolutely ridiculous. Coffee was amazing. Chips & Guac for $2, what?! Wasn’t even sure we were at the right place at first. We had the chilaquiles burrito and the chorizo brekkie (burrito) and OMG effin dank in the best way, layered complex flavors and textures, I mean both would easily rank in the top 5 breakfast burritos in LA, and while my sampling my not be exhaustive, it certainly has been extensive.
